I realize that like many things, length matters.
So...I'm trying to find either a quality stubby antenna or longer one that can bend/pivot so I can put materials on my lumber rack without hitting it....again :~(
Anyone have a recommendation on a proven product?
Thanks, brian

The antenna is for AM/FM radio. I don’t listen to the radio so my stubby is fine. Heck, I’d be fine without the stubby even!

Just unscrew it and put it in console tray when need to!

I got tired of taking mine out at the car wash and got a stubby. It works fine as far as I can tell. I don't listen to the radio, so ymmv.

It you want quality and reliability go with craven speed. I went with their stubby years ago, never an issue but depending on your area or environment long distances from the signal source could be a problem the shorter you go

I like that Idea. I never use AM, FM, or satellite. I was thinking about getting a Stubby but I hear it does/might mess up your AM radio reception, if you do ever need it in some sort of emergency. Just taking it off and putting it in the bottom of the glove box for that rainy day you might need AM reception again is a great idea that does not cost money :)

It's not the length of your sword it is how you wield it

When I bought my 26 XL I just took it off and didn't notice any difference in reception but when it's on it is really close to the top of my garage door so I just took a hack saw and cut it in half and that solved the problem.

I have the stubby, works fine there are some stations I might not get as good but all the local station come in fine, theres always something to listen to. you can switch it back to factory in summer when you can hand wash, with this winter weather when you cant hand wash stubby works fine. I see lots of mavericks in the car wash with factory antennas
I won't take a chance with it, you never know, its a major repair if something rips that off don't expect the car was to pay for it, so for 20 bucks its insurance.

After a few months of ownership - I was looking more closely at my antenna assembly and noticed the antenna itself was not there. I usually use my Pandora subscription but on occasion, I will use terrestrial (fancy way of saying AM or FM) since my truck also has HD radio. I began to look at Amazon for a replacement then thought to check the glovebox before I clicked "order"....sure enough, the antenna was in a bag at the bottom. I put it on, my HD radio reception went way up and now I have more options at my fingertips.

Mine was also delivered without an antenna but it was no where to be found in the truck.
