We're not trying to calculate MPG, the question was overall range. If the range calculation is only factoring in your mpg from the last fill up (which is what @huunvubu is thinking), then in theory your range will not re-calculate when using only electric power. If the calculator is taking into consideration live mpg calculations, then yes, your range should go up with more efficient driving, which for hybrids is when driving in the city.There's nothing special that needs to be calculated. If you use 1 gallon to go 40 miles you got 40 mpg. It doesn't matter if you ran an ICE half that time at 20 mpg or an ICE 100% of the time at 40 mpg.
