HeyBales....did you read the last part of my post? Straight from Ford's web site for the
Maverick. Ford trademarked the term "Power Boost." Isn't that enough proof? I should
think so.

You said....I quote here:

My point is it has NOT been used with the Maverick that I've seen. And actually an AI search and compilation doesn't see it either. Only with the V6.
Well - you provided no link, just a claim.
And you might want to reread if you think I was talking about you or your post. I was talking about the article. You didn't write much but a link to the article.

Of course it's trademarked term - it's been used already for years.
Not on the Maverick yet though.
Appears 2026 they started - that's what I mean.
Had to look it up myself since I've not seen it in the few ads yet.

They have also changed their phrasing for the eCVT thru the years, actually on the windows sticker within the same year many times.

So the fact that article did happen to use a new marketing term used with the Maverick, along with some incorrect info, and some badly written AI - still doesn't mean it was useful info.

I found plenty of Ford EcoBoost Hybrid articles from the Ford media center. I didn’t waste too much time on a simple search but the 1st ten I looked at were from Ford Germany.
There is some mention of an EcoBoost Hybrid on the Fox 1.0 engine but this would NOT be a hybrid by North American standards.
ā€œThe motor itself is not used to propel the vehicle on its own, and is mainly used to increase efficiency by reducing engine load, provide extra power during acceleration, and to reduce the perceived ā€˜turbo-lag’ at certain engine speeds while accelerating. The starter/generator makes use of a 48-volt battery system in the car, although vehicles fitted with these engines are not plug-in hybrids or full hybrids.ā€ Ford
Also Ford Media Center mention:
https://media.ford.com/content/ford...oboost-hybrid-delivers-17-per-cent-bette.html

Back when I was young (not quite the 1800s) Turbo engines had a limited life. The EcoBoost is really a great success story for automotive engineering!

Jere's the straight skinny: Hybrid: Costs a bit more, excellent mileage, good power, guaranteed to be less reliable. EB: A bit faster, still better mileager than a bigger truck, cheaper.
And guaranteed to be more reliable from all I’ve read In here,

BUT !

I think the hybrid just seems less reliable until the owner adjusts to its differences.
Most of the problems are not in the Electric drive systems of the Mavbrid.
From what I think I’ve observed.

Sorting through the ā€˜Bots’ driven by A. I. software and spotting it is becoming harder.
ChatGPT is so life like.

My wife holds a Masters degree in library sciences. She swears she pissed off Walmarts A. I. ChatGPT customer service system.

She said it got quite, ā€˜Snarky’ with her.
Her words.

SKYNET is gonna kick our asses one day.

Why is the hybrid guaranteed to be less reliable? A main difference between the hybrid and the ecoboost is the transmission. The hybrid transmission is a much simpler design with significantly fewer parts than the ecoboost transmission.

I have a 2026 hybrid and recently had the opportunity to drive the EcoBoost 2.0 Maverick. I'll take the hybrid.
Hybrid makes less noise and has plenty of take off power.
Took a 1051 mile trip to the mountains and the hybrid did great. 37.6 mpg round trip. Very pleased with the hybrid so far.

Sounds like an AI derived article.

Never heard the Maverick hybrid referred to as PowerBoost. Maybe I missed some marketing.
But I haven't missed them always calling it an eCVT.
" The EcoBoost utilizes a robust eight-speed automatic transmission, whereas the PowerBoost relies on a continuously variable transmission (CVT) "

This is incorrect. Even the pre-25MY had 245 ft/lb torque, per Ford's own system specific PID. Not sure what the 25/26MY got up to with bigger motor. I thought I saw it closed the gap.
" the hybrid's 155 lb-ft of torque feels anemic compared to the 277 lb-ft provided by the turbo. "

Of course some other points in there are valid - but have been expressed better in some other articles.
If no towing and just highway - potential 35 mpg still beats 30.
CVT scared me away! The V6 eco-boost in the F150 has been praised very highly by owners that I have talked to. Almost all of the complaints and problems I see in this forum are from hybrid owners. I think the 2.0 was my best choice.

When the F150 first got a tiny 6-cyl, there was uproar! Same with a 4-cylinder Mustang. But after some whining the comments (mostly) faded away.

The 2.0l EcoBoost engine offers a much more "spirited" drive.
You get roughly 250 hp and 277–280 lb-ft of torque, compared to the Hybrid's combined ~191 hp.
The EcoBoost uses a traditional 8-speed automatic transmission. Many drivers prefer the tactile feel of gears shifting over the "rubber-band" sensation or the steady drone of the Hybrid’s eCVT (Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission).
At highway speeds (70+ mph), the EcoBoost has significantly more "get-up-and-go" for merging and passing.

#Tremor all the way

The updated powertrain of the hybrids 2025+ has them neck and neck with the EB for "stomp on the gas for 3 seconds" sprints. The EB wins the marathons due to the higher HP.

Both are fun. šŸ˜„

Probably because of a bunch of Hybrid owners having 2-3 batteries replaced within 4 years because of dead batteries.

There is no rubber band effect in the Hybrid. Maybe you're thinking of a CVT instead of an eCVT.

As far as I can tell that’s about the only common problem the Mavbrid’s have.

No Ice starter motor, no need for a big cca number.
I hope somebody gets into and or tries out a
Marine deep cycle battery with its much more stout reserve.

Best dang video this guy has done to date !
I like my Ecoboost for the exact same reasons he does.
:’P

I’ve been lucky, I’ve never bought the wrong vehicle.

too many extra parts. The parts of ICEs have been figured out over the past hundred years. Hybrids just have more and newer parts. Extra cooling system, etc.
