I found it interesting about the proper procedure for applying the parking brake he mentions in the video. When I apply the parking brake in my 25 Hybrid I put it in park and apply the parking brake while my foot in still on the brake.
The Manual doesn't say any of that about applying the parking brake. It simply says to "pull the switch up." I just put it in Park, and apply the parking brake while my foot is still on the brakes, and then release my foot pressure. Having driven standard transmission vehicles most of my, using the parking brake is a habit I will always maintain...

I can set my parking brake any time just like the manual ones. I just got my recall letter today for the park paw issue 😐

I just got the recall letter for my 2025 Lariat Hybrid. It was kind of a non-issue letter. It said, (slight paraphrase) "If the pawl doesn't engage when you put it in park, the truck will automatically set the parking brake after giving you a warning light on the dash. We'll let you know when we have a fix and you can come in to have it applied." There was no mention of manually engaging the parking brake as a workaround.

Your mileage may vary if you have a different year/trim.

Dealership just canceled my recall appointment for this Friday on my 25 Lariat. Ford has seemingly put a hold on the “fix” for the 25 model year and only fixing the 26 models.

Edit: recall notice is gone from my app as well.

I am having my local Ford dealer do a mobile service tomorrow to update the software - I will advise as to the results. First time using mobile service.

Update is available - just had my local dealer do a mobile service in the driveway, done in 20 minutes.
Wow 20 minutes is impressive. I think I'm going to go the mobile route when I get it done.

That's good to know, I'm going to check in with my dealer and see if they can do that for me.

Hooked a set of jumper cables to the truck, connected the laptop to the port under the dash, He went back to his van to do some paperwork and done...I was cleaning up the driveway and he was here and gone before I finished. I will definitely give him a a top review when I get the survey.

Wow that's interesting and thanks for the update. I have seen others here report that the update only applies to the 26 Maverick currently so not sure what the heck is going on. I'm going to wait until I get word from Ford that the update for the 25 is indeed available. So what update did they do for you today?

There was a pending update that was waiting for an OTA add in, but since he was there, he did it direct to the vehicle. I don't know which update it was.

I just wanted to update you so you didn't get into an argument with your dealer based on incomplete information on my end.
