I am at the Ford store waiting for their offer to buy my ‘24 Maverick.
I had a recent cancer diagnosis and I want to get rid of all of my bills since I had to quit working until this chemo/ radiation deal is done in late march.
I paid off my mortgage , cancelled the extended warranty so I get a $1900 refund. I will save over $200/ month by taking the insurance off of the Maverick.
I will be done to two daily drivers my ‘99 Grand Cherokee and my ‘88 F350 crew cab. My ‘65 Dodge Coronet is waiting for the engine and transmission to be installed so I can use that as my DD during the summer.
I drive. 90 mile round trip everyday right now to the cancer center. I still feel ok but I can tell that chemo and radiation is starting, very slowly, to make me sick.
I have cancer in my neck and the back of my tongue. The radiation is going to blast my neck and the chemo works in conjunction with the radiation to kill the DNA in the tumor so it cannot regenerate itself. So it dies and the tumor shrinks.
Anyway the dealer that I bought the car from was at $24k which is exactly the number I told my wife they would offer. Carvana is at $26,200 today.
I guess I will make make one more trip to my local Dodge Garage to see if they want a cactus grey Maverick on there front row!
If not Carvana will own it.
