What timing! In 1965 I paid $26 for a factory shop manual for my ‘65 British Ford Cortina GT - trust me if you had a Cortina GT you needed a shop manual. Thats $266 in today’s money. Shipping from England was extra.
And the Zork's were a hugely pirated game back in the day. Infocomm tried to use extra goodies to make it worth your while to purchase.
You got me thinking about the Hayne's manuals - I recall some vehicles would have some big serious shop manuals, or however phrased, and still have the repair manuals, for much less money.
I'd always buy the Hayne's manual asap before they added more years and complexity to it, but never needed the expensive one I'm guessing was for rebuilding tranny or such. Never looked at it, well, wrapped up IIRC. Repair manual already had engine rebuild info, wiring diagrams, ect.
Being Ford still - were there parts to be had in the states?
