Last time we talked about road trips and found that everyone pays great attention to car maintenance, and pre-trip checks are an essential part of the process (checking tire pressure, rims, car battery, changing oil, etc.). But what regular vehicle conditions do you guys care about most, for safety reasons or personal hygiene needs?

Let's share how much monthly vehicle maintenance do you actually do.

Please select the maintenance tasks you have already completed or are sure you can complete this month. (This is a multiple-choice poll)

After voting, please leave a comment below:
How many items did you complete in total? What do you think is the most important? Share your experiences and little skills in thos thread.

4. Most important was the wiper checks and fluid refill. Got a ton of snow and ice here in Baltimore and my Mav performed admirably the one time I had to go out. Thanks

The weather has gotten very cold in the past week or two so my tires were a couple PSI lower than they should be. I aired them back up with my battery powered Ridgid inflator. I love my CrossClimate 2 tires. Want to maintain them as long as possible.

I been through everything on the list plus a couple more. It's been pretty cold here in NE Wisconsin last week and this week we're being told.

I had one and even that was a stretch! No snow where I live, hasn’t rained in weeks, and my TPMS works for now.

I check my tire pressure and fluid levels monthly. As temperatures drop, so does your tire pressure.

I do none of that. Once a year I wax it and clean the inside out.

Got the first oil change done because it's too cold to do it myself, but I will be changing out the cabin filter this week. Trying to do that once a year.

Guess I am old hard head and still check the tire pressure + oil level weekly, or before leaving on a long trip.

Side note on cleaning the floor mats, and this is a true story. I already had 1 pair of 3W floor mats, which I usually clean out and spray the bottom of the vehicle once a month at a car wash. Maybe 3 months ago I was in a rush and forgot to grab the floor mats from the hangers at the car wash at night when it was cold, and when I went back 2 hours later, a transient had already stole them (for what, lol?). Not re-buying the 3W mats was a mistake. They are a lot nicer than the bottom tier TPE mats you can get for around $70-80.

Because I have only had my Maverick for less than week, I can only say the my salesperson and dealer checked all of the above before delivery. Only have about 290 miles on it as of today....with snow and ice and cold weather around us, it has not been driven much.

Has been extremely cold the last week in WI. I do not usually start and warm up the Maverick but this last week I did. Right now I am in "Battery Saver Mode". That is the first time that has happened. So far no problem starting the Maverick but have to walk out and use the key, no remote start. Looking forward to my annual trip south soon. A week in Florida is the best cure for the winter blahs.

I’m at about 4–5 this month — checked tire pressure, topped off washer fluid, cleaned the floor mats, and made sure they weren’t sliding all over the place every time I brake 😅

Tire pressure is probably the most important for me, especially with colder weather. Even small temperature changes can drop a few PSI, so I try to stay on top of it.
I keep a small inflator in the truck just in case, and it’s been super handy when I need a quick top-off.

I also try to keep the interior clean since I go camping pretty often, and dirt, sand, and dust somehow end up everywhere every time 😂 Keeping it clean makes a huge difference after a trip.

Little maintenance stuff like this really helps keep the Maverick feeling solid long-term.

I perform all those checks at least weekly when the vehicle gets cleaned. If either of our vehicles gets driven in the rain they get a cleaning once they're home in the garage, I abhor that road dirt that gets on them, and yes, I'm one of those that cleans inside the door sills and under the trunk lid (wife drives a sedan). Back side of the wheels get a thorough cleaning at each rotation.

While I lack experience driving in snow, I maintain my vehicle regularly. I have performed four comprehensive cleanings and inspections, alongside routine maintenance like checking tire pressure. Maintaining optimal pressure is essential for maximizing MPG. Additionally, since my vehicle is a 2022 model, I monitor its condition frequently to determine when I will eventually need to replace the tires.
