Came across this video on Youtube. 2022 EcoBoost FX4 AWD w/ 4k tow with 165k miles. He doesn't seem to report any issues with the powertrain. He did say his right tail light occasionally pops itself out, which I found to be odd.

Many owners have reported the same issue where the outer edge of the tail light assembly pops out of its mounting clip, usually on the right side.
The irony of this problem is that it is almost always caused by the mounting screws being too tight, not too loose.

Yep the tail light popping on some has been posted before. Another good testament among many on the echo boost engine reliability that so many claimed would have problems. Like anything else if you maintain it well it will serve you well regardless of what it is.

He has a video where he is towing and pulling out stuck vehicle with a trailer both over 4000lb. His transmission rebuilt or replaced around ,100,000 miles as well. Also shows going through water above axles in other video.

Because of his careless ignorance or disregard of Manufacturers specific guidelines, I don't watch his videos anymore. So I didn't watch the one OP posted.

That Truck has definitely been used like a Truck! He will probably post another review when and if it makes it to 200k miles!!

I am not sure that it is fair to call his use "careless ignorance". It's a truck, a tool. I once opened a can with a single bladed pocket knife, and do not expect to go to hell for that. (Emphasis "that", LOL)

He didn't mention that he had the front axles replaced. 165,000 miles on the stock axles, considering how often they fail, is surprising.

The manufacturer has a limit of 400lb tongue weight and a 4000 lb towing capacity for a reason. If he ignores that he shouldn't be upset if it breaks. Like you if you had sliced your hand it would be your fault. His videos pushed Ford to cover his cost, yet if it was you or myself or those watching duplicating those actions we would not have had it covered after warranty.

That's why I don't watch his video it's hypocritical.

I wonder if he ever changed the trans fluid . Ity is a weak point in the Turbo mav. I know the filter isnt changable but the fluid is. If I had the 8 speed Mav I sure would. I will change my E-cvt fluid every 40K miles.

Rear drive unit he said failed. Not sure if he meant rear axle/ring and pinion gears or the PTU that engages the 4 wheel drive with a dog clutch ?

Probably the RDU. I haven't seen any reports of the PTU failing.

My 22 xlt hybrid only has 6800 miles. Don't think it will ever save enough gas to pay for itself???
no it wont, only way is if you are buying for a replacement, then just enjoy the added economy with the forthcoming $3,50 gas prices.

This guy has a ton of posts on his Maverick. He travels a lot around the country going to Pow Wows in all kinds of weather. He differently uses his truck a lot and has seemingly treat it very well.
