Curious if others have seen corrosion at these spots on their pinch welds? After just nine months with my '25 I have it on both sides beneath the passenger doors, right below the gap where the plastic trim pieces meet. The truck has never been lifted at these points, fwiw. I saw a post on here a few years ago where someone had this on their '22, but couldn't find anything else. Wonder if there's anything I should do to address it.

Truck hasn't been lifted by you while you've had it.

Been lifted by someone perhaps it appears.

Does that really line up with the arrows on the plastic trim for the spot to lift at?
Doesn't look right for the double-thickness pinch weld.

Maybe you can claim it to be from the factory - if it's not really a lift point.

I would definitely treat that area! You might consider Por-15 or something similar.
Thanks for the post, I'll look at my truck more closely next Summer!

Thanks for the reply. The spot is about a foot away from the designated rear jack point (toward the center of the vehicle), and it's on both sides. I'm confident it's not due to being jacked or lifted here. That was never done since I purchased it new, and I don't know why the factory, dealer or anyone else would have lifted it so far from the arrows. As you can see in the photo, it's right at the spot where the trim pieces meet.

Not there but rust will appear all over the bottom of your Maverick. I have been treating parts since day one just to stave off as much as possible.

Not sure how that could be claimed in the 1 yr bumper to bumper initial warranty (compared to 3 yr next one), as something that came from the factory that way.
But I'd try.

Almost appears something was in the way while painting going on.
When you take to dealer, bring a knee pad and check some trucks sitting there same spots.

Warranty book has a 1 yr section for extra items.
No shit? Mind sharing a link to where that is, or the page/section?

EDIT: I do see mention of the 12 month/12k mile reference throughout. One was airborne fallout on the paint to correct, windshield stress cracks, wheel alignment (which I did not know), brake pads 12 months or 18k.

I’ve never watched new Mavericks getting loaded off delivery trucks - wonder if any exterior protective film etc was strapped / secured there?

No undercoating = Rust.

Is it too late to undercoat, and if not, what would you recommend?
No it isn't. I would still apply a lanolin based undercoat like Woolwax, Fluid Film, or Blaster Surface Shield.

They are rust inhibitors so will help arrest what is there and stop further rust from developing.

As already stated, it is never too late. Also, as already stated, a lanolin based product is very good due in no small part with its ability of seeping into all the little nooks and crannies.
