There are 8,000 lb luxury travel trailers with zero MPG loss to your truck and zero range loss to your Electric Vehicle.

In fact, these trailers make any gas or diesel truck into a hybrid vehicle.

The trailers are SELF PROPELLED with electrified rear axle and 76 kWh drive battery good for about 300 miles.

They boost and do regen on hills.

Acceleration and braking of your tow vehicle is unaffected while you have 8,000 lbs behind you.

The trailer has the same Cd as a Tesla sedan.

The custom hitch measures push and pull.

If more than 20 lbs of pull the wheels self propel.

If more than 20 lbs of push, the wheels regen. 80 kW regen.

Starts $150k
Fully optioned $250k

This would be great for a truck than can tow 8,000+lbs. Might increase the mpg’s of the truck?

Seems dangerous for anything smaller or lighter to tow this beast.

Imagine limp mode at freeway speeds with this behind you…

Go right ahead and hang Four tons on the back of one of these mini trucks.

Evasive maneuvers, a flat at speed, big gust of wind, cut off at 60 mph by a drunk.
You’ll try and blame someone else but it was your fault.
You’re screwed and that’s fine with me but if you hurt or kill someone else. They just may have next of kin that will demand that pound of flesh.

Get a 2026 Hybrid F-150 that gets 25 mpg.
Beef up the ass end and have a ball.

It's not an issue when you understand how it works.

Imagine you and a separate autonomous (WAYMO?) vehicle following behind you at a close distance but perfectly synchronized.

The computerized vehicle behind you has 100x (1000x?) better reaction time and precision than you do.

Four tons on the back of a Maverick or ten tons on the back of an F-150.

What's the difference?

Not a clue where you got ten tons. We were discussing a 8,000 pound camper.

This is just an "idea exercise" and the company that is producing this self propelled trailer is waiting for a big RV company to swoop in and buy their tech....

Yep I saw this Trailer Idea on the net two years ago. Looks like they re applied the the same old click bait.

Besides the RV Industry is going to be much like Harley Davidson.

All their targeted customers are getting too old to do all this and the younger kids want light out back remote camping gear.
They have no desire to become what we all used to call, ‘Turtle people.’

Setting up in a RV park with all the other old folks and playing Canasta or shuffle board is not gonna be a thing with the Youngers.

I predict a very crowded used RV market with super cheap deals within the next five to ten years. Then it will be a much smaller niche market.

They might sell a few to the ideological, well funded look-at-me types, but there is no market for this. It's DOA.

I would not mind a perfectly synchronized computerized 8000 pound vehicle tailgating on my ass - just don’t connect it to my unibody hitch. Maybe a wireless connection lol? 😂
