Fairly easy, especially on the hybrid. Power to the battery under the rear seat. Tapped into the B&O sub speaker wires. Then ran the Bass control wire along the passenger side, tucking under the trim, and 3m mounted under the console.

At first I set it to power on through the speaker wires. Not good, as is it comes on when you open/close the doors and who knows when else, due to how the infotainment center power cycles a lot. So today I ran a remote wire to my fuse panel in the passenger footwell, I just tied into my dash cam wiring(ACC Fuse 2.)

I did install a center speaker last night, because I had some JBL 3022's that I didn't put in my Mustang.

The kicker is on sale for $254, I got an Open Box,unused, at Bestbuy for $165.

Super helpful. Thank you.

I have a hardwired dashcam as well, so could tie into that line. Did you then unhook from the battery and just use the ACC power? Or both ACC and battery?

Also, did you get a full speaker wire / sub install kit? or did the kicker come with everything needed?

Hows the center speaker? Pretty straightforward install?

Sorry for all the questions - I'm more of a measure twice kind of guy!

Main power to the amp is from the battery. The remote power(minimal current) is just to signal it to turn on. That’s from the ACC fuse, I had it just turning on from speaker wire signal, but it came on to often.

No install kit needed, comes with harness. You may need some small gauge wire to run to the remote power, I don’t remember how long it was on the harness as I cut it off. And a nut to thread onto the battery post.

Center speaker was easy. Just pop the cover off and un bolt the speaker. I cut the wires from the existing speaker so that I left the factory plug and then just soldered them to my new speaker, or crimp on some speaker terminals.

Question for you, why did you get your Kicker input from the BO Sub? Most write ups guys say they got there Kicker input from the rear left and right speaker inputs. Just wondering the logic. More control of volume?

The folks using the R+L speaker inputs usually don't have the B&O setup. I wouldn't trust the woofer signal on the B&O to not have a high pass filter since it has the dedicated subwoofer. And it won't get mucked with by fade/balance settings.

I caved and had the local shop install a kenwood system on my XL. Kenwood 800W 4 channel system replacing the 2 rear speakers and adding 10 inch subwoofer under the seat on a ordered box that specificaly fits underbeath the seat. The amp is were the stock woofer goes.

NIGHT AND DAY LOVE IT!!! Worth every penny

You cant see the rear speakers but they sound so much better and no signs off all the panels being tampered with. All Kenwood
