Same experience here... bought it and installed it only to find it slides around when making turns and stops in everyday traffic. What a letdown- obviously no "real world" testing was done on this product:(.
I cleaned & conditioned my dash before installing. My cover is handling the massive g-force cornering of my torque vectoring RDU without any slippage. Next test - will it pop up once I install my Mabatt downforce inducing rear spoiler and gave ‘er the beans!?

what "protection" does a dashboard need? I mean other than my stupid trophy fake-wife putting her feet on it from time to time....
Plastic gets oxidized from the sun, gets weathered looking and cracks, especially so in places with a lot of hot sun like the southwest.
So the covers help a LOT with that, as well as glare reduction.
I put one on my trucklett. Fits great, looks good, less glare and years from now when I maybe sell the truck, it will still look good.

Nothing like a real world test from a member of the "pedal to the metal club"...

doesn't silicone tend to leech oils or discolor whatever is beneath/against it if left for extended periods of time?
It's usually the opposite. The parts not covered will be discolored.

yes, I know what they were originally made for. One of my old Corvairs had a rug cover over the cracked dash. I just have not seen a modern car (made in this century) with a cracked dash. Even in the Southwest. I think there are other practical reasons to have a pad/cover on the dash, but protecting the plastic seems to be an outdated reason.

Cracked is the extreme end of life for oxidized plastic.
Well before that happens, and it will - eventually, discoloration will occur.

Silicone is one of the best materials in terms of stability in all conditions. I use it whenever possible for weather stripping.

According to AI:

Key Aspects of Silicone Stability
  • Thermal Resistance: Silicones maintain properties across wide temperature ranges (-60°C to 300°C+), far exceeding organic materials, resisting breakdown from heat and cold.
  • Oxidative Stability: The Si-O bond is more stable than C-C bonds, preventing oxidation, chalking, or flaking in air, making them durable for outdoor or high-oxygen uses.
  • UV & Ozone Resistance: They don't degrade, fade, or crack from sunlight or ozone exposure, unlike many plastics and rubbers.
  • Chemical Inertness: Generally non-reactive and non-toxic, though some concentrated acids and organic solvents can degrade them.
  • Mechanical Stability: Maintains flexibility and elasticity through repeated heating and cooling cycles.

In general, lower-quality silicone can leach oils over time, but for this particular silicone dashboard cover, the material used is Automotive-grade silicone, not consumer silicone, we already have several years experience with silicone dashboard cover for other cars.

Too be trueful, I've never really considered a dash cover for a car/truck. Gewgaw's only ones i've seen looked like carpets(??!!?).. The SiIicone aspect of it, intrigues me. I have purchased a couple of small silicone patches so i could 'decorate'' my dash with personal Gewgaws.
My question for you guys, how thick is this silicone cover ? I''ve e noticed that the thicker the pad, the less it move around. also. i was wondering if you plan on offering other colours, other than black..
I have purchased sever of your fine MAYBETT products and will, no doubt, do an excellent on these covers.

I don’t often cover my dash, but when I do, I use a carpet dash cover to protect the neoprene dash cover and a quilted dash cover to protect the carpet dash cover.

I've never owned a dash cover before. I also have never owned a vehicle whose Dash became sticky in hot weather.
I am not the only Maverick owner who has experienced a sticky dashboard in hot conditions.

Here is an option for Owners of
22 -24 Maverick models.

not covered by mabett.
I find value in this dash cover. Especially, living where the temperatures are over 100° during the summer. I bought my dash cover before Mabett sold one.
100% happy with the fit, finish and look of my non-mabett, dash cover. If I throw my glasses up there they don't slide around. When my wife is with me, she puts her book on dash and it doesn't slide off.
It transforms a hard surface into a soft one for a little sound deadening. It works for me plain and simple.
When it arrived. I steamed it flat, while it was still warm I put it on my dash and smoothed out.

It is NOT held in place with anything except the soft touch Mabett dash tray you see in the picture. It has never slid around.

Thanks for the thoughtful questions — and really appreciate the kind words and your support of Mabett products 👍

You’re definitely not alone — a lot of dash covers people have seen in the past were carpet-style, which isn’t everyone’s thing. That’s actually one of the reasons we went with silicone instead.

The silicone cover is approximately 2.5mm thick. We intentionally avoided going too thin, since — as you mentioned — thicker silicone tends to stay put better and resist shifting during driving and temperature changes.

Right now, black is the only option. We chose it first because it blends best with most Maverick interiors and minimizes windshield glare. That said, we are paying attention to feedback on other color options, so it’s definitely something we’ll evaluate moving forward.

When I hear these ungrateful, Negative Nancys whining it just makes so angry. They should move out of their mother’s basement before trying to change the world. The customer service company I work for doesn’t appreciate anything I do for them and are always riding me about minor petty details and always takes the side of the ungrateful customers. I would be willing to make a career move to Mabett to set them straight so you can focus on making more incredible products.
Let me know.
I don’t often joke around, but when I do, it’s usually about customer service.
