Just a thing that sits in that cavity that hasn't changed in 3 years.

I'm thinking of a different version of the tray, with a securely attached arm to hold a phone/GPS/tablet. Perhaps the arm can be detached via finger tightened nut, or inserts in an existing OEM cavity or Mabett tray with expanding tensioner base; but that takes up tray room. However, that would be one-size-fits-everything, so might be the better mfg option. Bonus points if it can also fit and work in the hole next to the smaller screen radio on <2024 base models.

Personally, I'm not going to put things in that tray, I discovered from my Transit that anything up on the dash produces a lot of unwanted glare on the inside of the windshield. So, something that takes up the whole try in order to mount a device is fine with me. Which means it can be weighted and just sit in there. I might fabricate my own out of spare parts to see if that works.
