My one year old factory AGM has sat for two days. Still sitting at 12.3 VDC after a 200 mile plus road trip. No issues.
My BMS won’t charge it above 12.4 VDC.
I’d feel a lot better if it took it to 12.9.

With the battery In circuit my Noco Genius 1 peaks it at 12.5 then goes into maintenance/desulfate mode.

Anyone else have a Battery Saver Mode unexpectedly on Christmas day? Must have been a “Merry Christmas” from Ford.🤬
I installed an AGM in my hybrid nine months ago. No battery saver yet*, but voltage is slowly dropping. Last week I bought a laptop so I can use Forscan. I’ll be setting the state of charge to 95%.

* I’ve noticed that it always goes to battery saver (no matter the voltage) if the truck sets unused for four days or more.

[edit to ask]:
How long has it been since you installed the AGM?

My factory AGM can and has sat untouched for two weeks more than once. I have never seen a, ‘Battery Saver’ mode yet.

I'm thinking to get it to 12.9 you. Will need to take it out of truck, charge it with possibly recovery mode. I had my g5 on my 20-25ah agm side by side battery which was dead flat which I force charged 10 minutes at 10 amps then put my g5 on it. Took about six weeks before g5 finished. Your battery is not that far but is a much larger battery. I have unplugged my g5 and then restarted it on my 12v. Seems like it helps if done every 4 days or so. I have hybrid though so a smaller battery than your EB and also flooded OEM max series.
ETA: IF you have opened the door to raise the hood your battery could be 12.6 instead of 12.4 due to relays, etc activated when you opened the door. Leave hood open and take reading without "activating" in the truck.

AGM doesn't fix parasitic draw...
That is for sure. I just had an AGM installed and in two weeks battery dead again. Car went on a 200km drive and I parked it for one day. Next day it is dead. Back to the dealership for the third time. Now finally they have agreed to check for a parasitic draw. Software update and AGM did not fix problem. Pulling fuse 11/12 did not solve it either. Any other ideas out there???

Correct me if I’m wrong but:

There isn’t anything “wrong” with battery saver mode. It was intended to do exactly what it is called - save the battery. It is supposed to come on when the battery is low OR when the battery has been sitting. It was intended as a feature. Not a bug.

What is a problem is batteries draining and dying. Battery saver mode is just an indicator of THAT problem.

If you have an AGM and it’s been sitting, it may still enable battery saver mode. What hopefully won’t happen due to the larger capacity is it draining or dying.

TLDR: It turned on likely because you were sitting not because the battery is dying. Correct me if wrong.

The only issue I have had since I purchased on April 3, 2025 was the first week of December. I flew to Florida for a week, returned to 20 degree weather and snow. Maverick had set outside for 7 days. The Ford app said remote features disabled , drive vehicle to enable. Truck started remotely with the key fob, no messages since. I have to guess it was due to not being started in 7 days that the app disabled remote start. I have no issue with Ford doing that. If my battery starts requiring a trickle charger every day or even once a week if it's being driven every few days, then this truck will become someone else's problem.

Well Cherokee, as you likely noticed both OP and I have hybrids.

I had the same issue. This is the first Saver Mode issue I have had since installing the AGM about 18-months ago. Really weird.

When you Hybrid Maverick owners use a trickle charger , are you connecting to the two places under the hood?
I have a Noco 5genius, but just asking to be on safe side. My back seat stays full of various items to keep them handy, and unloading all that just to get to battery would be a PIA. THANKS for advice before I hook it up incorrectly.

I don’t often have battery problems, but when I do, I mount solar panels on a auto rotor that tracks the sun, with a remote battery monitoring system tethered to my cell phone, install extra AGM storage battery(s) in the bed of the truck and easy peasy no more problems.

Put my AGM in July, no Deep Sleep but I put my Noco Genius 5 on for about 3 hours each week. Gets up to almost 13.0 when I take the charger off but a week later 12.3-12.4.
