They were the best offer locally. I took the money and ran.

I was hoping my hybrid would be here this week or even next but I don't think that's going to happen.

There is no market value for these trucks so it's very difficult to get a price.
Yup. There wasn’t any market data. Other than vin specs, these companies have nothing to go on. But that seems to be changing.

I’m getting a hybrid with luxury package in alto blue. Build date last day of Jan ‘22. I plan on selling as well. Things change in 9 months and going to buy wife suv instead. I have no idea where to sell but the dealer I’m purchasing from says just go to another dealer and they will offer 5-7k over invoice. They claimed a customer bought a Ford bronco sport for 27k put 3k miles on it and sold it to the adjacent Chevy dealer which now has it for sale for $37k.. any ideas best place to sell. Twins being born in 6 months and don’t need this little pickup…only reason buying is I heard could make a little money… money that will help with purchasing a suv.

thanks
I sold my Q50 on Carvana and made out big. They come to your house and give you a check. Super easy. Vroom is their direct competition

I agree with all of that except the use of the word “soon”. It’s likely to be like this for a while.

Gm and Ford both said conditions are improving.

Gm hiked there guidance for this coming year last week.

I’ve seen Ford crank out cars recently. But the market as a whole is going to take a while to get caught up. The premium being paid for used cars will likely last through 22.

These companies are offering insane sale offers for used cars. I highly recommend seeing what they offer for your vehicles. I sold a 2013, Nissan Leaf with nearly 80K miles for 6k and a 2017, Mazda CX3 with 40K for 23K, that was more then I paid for both of them, the CX3 being purchased new for 22K, over 4 years ago. They just show up, give you a check and load your vehicle up. They pay so much because they have low overhead and much like most of these companies that run in the red forever, if they aren’t growing, they are dyeing. They need constant inventory to survive, so they pay up!

Regarding selling your Maverick? I don’t see the point of trying to sell a vehicle that clearly cost you a significant amount of time to acquire. What’s your time worth?

5K more than what I bought it for on an asset that usually depreciates

What did you pay? If you paid MSRP (assuming closer to 22k) I'd be selling. lol
So buy a truck for 22k, pay tax, sell for a net 4K gain, pay capital gains tax, net profit of 2500$ plus no maverick. What a roller coaster

This really is a wild thread. People going through this much effort to profit a couple thousand dollars to buy vehicles they probably shouldn’t be buying? I doubt there’s going to be any long standing rush on Maverick prices if people that ordered in November are already getting build dates. Not to mention it’s not really that type of vehicle. It’s a budget truck, a nice one, but not something people are going to drop large sums to get. I really doubt there will be very many people looking to buy them for the price of decent GMC Canyon. The only thing it really has going for it is that the ranger is butt ugly.

I’ll gladly take more for my Maverick than I paid (OTD). I have very little time invested in it. Ordered in August and got a vin and production date the next day. Took delivery 8 weeks later. I’m basically driving a brand new lariat like it’s a rental until February. Works for me.

Lol I doubt anyone here is actually going to do that. I mean if it was 10k over what I paid, it would be worth it I guess but that's unlikely.

Only thing I would consider trading it for would be either the F150 with the hybrid powerboost or the New Tundra Hybrid. But those would be pushing 60k or better so that doesn't seem likely for me. lol
