if you need to fill up with a gas can, you need this funnel to get past the anti-siphon door to put gas in the tank.

Not gonna happen for a 2025 model owner--they don't get a paper owner's manual.
My bad ! Sorry for the misinformation... Hard to understand THAT decision when I can imagine all the possibilities of a mishap beyond cell service.

Oh, it's not hard at all to understand: It's cheaper that way.

It is also an indication that you have not spent 15 minutes with your owner's manual. Not meaning to be snarky here - admittedly, advice is worth what you pay for it, and mine is free. But, I highly suggest you spend a few minutes with the manual. Turn down the corners of the pages that show the dash icons, the procedure and location of the jack and spare, the tire pressure alert system (especially how it resets), the oil change monitor reset, fuel door release backup...... you get the idea. Voice of experience here. Best of luck with your new truck !

You got a manual with your Maverick? I was told that the manual was available online or on the display in the truck. No longer provided with the trucks. Now I see others who have received the manual with the vehicle. What gives? I had to shell out something like $75 bucks to order mine from Helm Inc.

What owners of a 2025 Maverick received the printed manual?
For model year 2025 the Mavericks owners manual is preloaded into the infotainment system.
It is a downloadable feature right to your computer or phone.
Once it's downloaded to your phone you don't have to have cell service.
Some folks who just feel better with the printed manual have taken to buying one like you did, for about 50 to 75 bucks or printed all 500+ pages.

Perhaps I am just too old, but I found the owners manual to be fairly worthless.

Lou,
It's actual purpose is to hold open the spring loaded flap on the filler tube. Enabling you to add gas from a gas can or additives.
Ford, in the manual, also says that some older gas pump nozzles do not work in the gas tank filling neck with out using the funnel. Mine was under the rear seat

if you need to fill up with a gas can, you need this funnel to get past the anti-siphon door to put gas in the tank.
Just FYI - not actually what it's for - other things in the pipe help with that.
Because you can easily hold that open.
Let's you see the stuff that could be grabbed by a nozzle too big.

Merely for the capless aspect of the filler opening, so you don't ruin what's past the flap, and it seals correctly when done.

Actually - if you look under there - a poster had the pump tube actually grab that small white thing on the side and rip it out.

It is very poorly organized. Really, to find stuff in it quickly, you need to use the search feature in an electronic version. I had trouble finding the fuel tank capacity for my '24. The section labeled fuel tank capacity pretty much just defines the term. The actual capacity is listed like 100 pages later. Ridiculous.

I wish that I had been given a paper owner's manual, but nope, was told mine is contained in the Infotainment System. Tried it - it bites the big one. Searching is a major pain. GIMME PAPER!!! WAAAAAH!

tend to agree the index or TOC seems not to be very logical and the paper is very cheap. find a wrecked early model and lift the one in the glove box( good luck I have bought used vehicles that the former owner for some reason or the other decided to keep their now useless owners manual and would grab the paper stash(trash) out of the glove box including the owners manual( don't you just love the pricks that sell a vehicle and strip a box full of junk they installed off of it and leave the mounting holes and wires dangling? the aforementioned box of junk takes up space in their garage and hits the curbside pickup with in 6 months,I never strip a vehicle I sell( even include the "Haynes" manuals if I have them.
