Maverick owners demographics - just curious

I hope so too. This is my third and last new vehicle (wife goes new car every few years. The rest of the story is I put $2500 down on the new 2005 Ranger. Went to work and asked if they could pay for a new truck for me. The owner gave me the $350/month to make my payments till it was paid off, so it was in my name, my truck. So I had $2500 invested in it and got $3500 when I sold it a 300k miles! He paid for gas too, I covered the maintenance. I'd say that was a great deal.

Just curious. What's the age of the Maverick owners on this site? I'm 61. Any women owners? At our dealership, most Maverick owners are older (50+) and male. I think I've seen only one female Maverick owner at our dealership. I don't think I've seen any who are under 50. The Maverick seems like it would be something that would be popular with young people given it's practicality and entry level price. But the young people I've talked to personally like the way it looks, admit it'll meet their needs, but aren't interested in buying it because they seem to think it's a old man truck .

I am 59 years old I live in the greater Chicago land area. I have seen a few female Maverick drivers but mostly men. This is my second truck in my lifetime My first truck was a 2001 Ford ranger edge. I love my little Maverick even though I had it lowered and I think it looks phenomenal. Easier for me to get into because of my disability. I wouldn't trade my truck for nothing

I’m wondering the demographics of the Maverick vs the old Ranger and comparable trucks or even the earlier Courier and its contemporaries. Seems like it may be the same people who bought the 1990s era ranger might be buying the current maverick

Yep, that’s me! I’m 72 years old. Bought my first Ranger in 1988, then a 1997, then a new 2005, and a used 2006 before changing to a 2022 Maverick. Just love it!

The Ranger to Maverick pipeline is real and I love it. I am 43 and also came from a Ranger - mine's an 04 - before passing it down to my teenager as I moved to something with heated seats, cruise control, and the ability to play music off my phone without having to use the plug in Bluetooth to AM Radio convertor.

It's WILD how soft even the Maverick, a non-luxury vehicle, has made me in three months. Riding shotgun in the Ranger feels like sitting on the school bus now.

Early 50s female here! I liked all the options available on the Lariat for the price. I travel a bit for work and like that I can throw stuff in the bed if I want to and that it’s nimble and easy to park. The mileage is nice too after driving a Mustang GT for 20 years!

Im age 46...damn it looks old just writing it.
But im clearly in a practical group so age has some benefits IMO.
Wisdom to pick what fits your life, not whats "cool".

Maybe Maverick is an "old man's truck" the way a minivan is about the best value for hauling loads, once you can get past the perception that its a soccer mom vehicle.

Iike a minivan vs full size BOF SUV, Maverick is infinitely more comfortable taking fast curves at highway speeds.

Fewer younger buyers would maybe be because Maverick is so new -- young truck buyers would probably spend $10k on a 10 year old Maverick as transportation,
but young "truck guys" want a "mans truck" if they got $20k or a $400/month payment they want a jacked up "real" truck their buddies say "man thats a hot truck"...I do remember being in my 20s yard dont want the "baby" version of anything you want the "mans" version.

Right now Maverick is holding its value in a crazy way, which means if you arent "Maverick or die" you can get a used F-150 for not a whole lot more than used Maverick - they look at it as "I got way more room & can tow more in the F-150 for not much more $$ used, of course thats the answer".

Honestly I think it takes some time to realize the lifetime of double gas cost just so youre ready to tow 15,000 lbs if you need to, is not a wise use of resources.

And insurance? I have no idea how a new 2025 Maverick, even hybrid, has lower full coverage than a 2016 Honda CRV worth 1/3 as much with 130k miles on it.
But here we are.

Canadian-American, Canada wont be much of an auto market soon, 150,000 Candians moved to USA for work opportunities, got tired of a median salary lower than the poorest US state Mississippi, with the cost of living of California.

And Maverick is getting ready to also be built at the Louisville Kentucky plant that now builds Escape & Bronco Sport.

If it makes you feel better, my 17 year old son drove it to his all boys high school for a few days while I was fixing his 2009 Toyota Prius. All of his classmates loved the vehicle, including the rich kids who drive Teslas, etc.

They all wanted to hop in the bed and ride around campus. To my knowledge my son was smart enough to not let that happen.

I ordered it when I was 56.

He's smarter than I would have been at that age. Thankfully, I didn't own a truck (or any vehicle) when in high School. I would have been one of those who hauled people on the back

Guess im in the minority here at 33. Wanted something good for doing outdoors stuff and road trips. Fits that role to a T. Ive mostly had Tauruses, but a few fun cars like a Mustang GT, an Abarth and a GTI. Ill get another fun car soon, but I have to say the Maverick is crazy enjoyable to just drive around.

X2, on the Maverick is crazy enjoyable to just drive around!! I also have the 2.0 EB in My Maverick.

Very cool!! Do you have an idea of what it makes for power?
The intake is an Edelbrock performer rpm .

I'm guessing it should be close to 600 Horsepower or more its probably about 11.5:1 Compression and has a Solid Roller Cam in it!!
