What does "next departure" mean? Mine says "none" and the words next departure are almost in the center and touching the mi.

For the IOS users you can now add a shortcut on your home screen to lock/unlock your doors and also remote start. So you don't have to open the app first.

My Maverick is not connected to Ford Pass & I pulled fuse 11.

My Maverick is my safe spot during the Zombie Apocalypse. I actually spotted some zombie looking dudes in the local Ford service bays…
Disabling the Maverick fues may prevent some data collection, but if you're carrying a mobile device—which is likely—you're still being tracked. This doesn't account for street pole security cameras, cameras in businesses you visit, dash and 360-degree cameras on newer vehicles like Teslas, or even people taking selfies at concerts and sporting events. All this data is being collected, sorted by AI, and monitored. Unless you're Brill from Enemy of the State, hiding in a metal cage with no electronics, you're being tracked. Even your posts on MTC are being archived. I dislike it too, but the reality is, you're a product, and your data is being sold.

I am concerned with Ford futzing with my truck’s functionality without my knowledge of what they are futzing with. I am not concerned at all about Ford tracking me.

The Zombie attack scenario was a joke:)

I understand the zombie comment was a joke. I doubt Ford will implement significant changes via over-the-air (OTA) updates. I have stopped getting radio updates over WiFi for my 2023. Typically, updates are handled at the dealership during a recall visit. While I know some of the 2025 models support OTA updates, I purchased an extended warranty for added peace of mind for if it does get messed up. Eventually you'll need to take it in, and someone will notice the fuse is missing and put one in only to charge you for it.

Zombies lack a sense of humor. You realizing I was joking lets me cross you off my list. Zombies also do not argue. If you’re keeping a list, you can cross me off (and many others) :)

Yes, if a major update needs to be made - the dealer will contact me. When I signed my contract & said “no” to letting Ford use the App to communicate to my truck - they reserved the right to do so only if a safety/powertrain/recall issue. I said ok to that to cover my butt.

But it is the little entertainment & etc issues I want blocked. When I took possession - It took me over a week of random “button” pushing to stop my radio from turning on every time I started Mav. It was obnoxious since I don’t even use my radio.

Now that I have all my settings customized for me, I don’t want to deal with any resets or changes there. Yes, I’m sure there is a simple way to ensure the radio is off when starting truck - but I forgot & don’t even want to remember or search for a forum post or manual page to redo.

Yes I know the Ford App is very useful for many. I don’t use remote start for safety reasons and I can remotely lock/unlock my truck with my fob. That is good for me.

When someone says..."I understand the comment was a joke"...really means that they didn't understand it was a joke..... :cwl: :cwl: :cwl:

I’ve removed you from the list, lol. My initial reply was to someone who claimed Ford wasn’t collecting their data because they disabled the system by pulling the fuse. They probably still use a phone and the internet, so they’re not off the grid. For those highly concerned about privacy, a pre-2010 Ford Ranger without wireless connectivity might be a good choice. Ultimately, people will do what makes them feel secure.
