everyone with B&O should do this simple back-to-back test:As far as the door speaker debate, Colin is spot-on. The front door speakers are ridiculously light Fisher-Price toys that may sound passable at low/medium-low volume, but they are propped up quite a bit by Ford's artificial EQ programming. The "magnets" (such as they are) are the bare minimum to make sound. I got a lot of joy tossing those things in the trash.
Money for Nothing, max volume. (yes, the stock speakers can handle it, as long as you have the bass set to level or minus 1 or 2.)
now replace the 6.5s and try it again.
if you've already made the swap, or you have non B&O but have an amp, try it anyway. (maybe not max volume if you are using something other than B&O factory amp. use your judgment.)
at any rate, it will 100% demonstrate the midbass region where the factory 6.5s are weak.
