Rained last night and I had the day off. Wasn't not brutal today. Can't leave well enough alone. So... Added LEDs with a dimmer. Few dead ones in the strand. I'll replace them when they go back on sale.

Gloss black on top of box came out good. Happy with it. Moved into bed lining the box. Added some blue pearl but you probably won't see it. And if you could wouldn't matter. Was mostly as test for something else. Shot at 75 psi at the tank. I like that texture with that setting.

did you have to replace the B&O speakers throughout the truck with that bigger amp and such? I am looking for a boost in sound, but not interested in a complete overall. System sounds great, I just really like loud.

nah.. just under the trim panels down the passenger side of the truck, under carpet in the kick and under the volume knob.

nah.. the B&O setup fine except the factory sub. I disconnected the factory sub, and added mine. everything else stock.

Are you streaming music? even high quality streamed music is compressed. Stream rips of crappy YouTube rips, garbage mp3 will blast out peak mid range frequencies to make it sound "loud" but it's not. it's just.. mud. you can swap out for after markets but you won't notice much difference if you're media is meh. I turn the factory up to 17 and it's straight banging in my truck.

I would normally do this install myself. But I fell a few months ago and have not really recovered. I'm very much a built not bought guy, but I have on going health issues that make it very hard for me. To be blunt, I physically don't have the strength to do it. So I made the really hard decision of having a shop do it for me. Thankfully they are excited to do it, and will cover the alignment as well. Hope to have it done before the end of next week.

Feels super nice to being back in a lowered mini truck. nothing like it.

that's not the issue and I can show you with a RTA that it isn't.

but you can leave your stock 6.5s in there if you like.

hmmmm... that sounds like a potentially failing or already faulty from the factory amp? has it always been that way or recently? This sounds stupid, but go with me. but did you happen to wire any aftermarket accessories? I know it sounds dumb, but disconnect them. does the RTA get better? what number on the dial are you turning? with the music I listen to, I can't really turn the radio up past 17 or the stockers do bottom out. the music I listen to I normally actually back down the factory midrange a lil while boosting highs. these are my settings. also someone asked about my bass knob. I have it here.

This was after tint. basically the day after I bought it and today. Man. those factory rims were ugly and stupid.

This truck sucks for factory sound deading from the compared to my 2014 Denali. Granted that was more a luxury ride and they put more effort there for that. Over all this truck is loud. You hear everything. I've been a fan of second skin audio products for awhile so I in the fall I'll do some of that. Once I line the doors, it'll get that nice... Thud.. when it closes that I'm looking for.

Don't know if you got around to adding the sound mat yet, but I was just going to comment that I found it was an INCREDIBLE bang-for-the-buck and a huge improvement. Even if I was going to leave the OEM stereo system stock, I would recommend adding sound deadening. It's just one of those things that is enough trouble, of course you might as well replace speakers while you're in there lol.

I added Canopus 50 mil product to all the rear trim panels, cab body, front doors, and dash A-pillar trim last month when I redid my speakers. I didn't pull any trim that wasn't required for the speaker replacement, but there still a few areas left I can do that are easy to get to.

As far as the door speaker debate, Colin is spot-on. The front door speakers are ridiculously light Fisher-Price toys that may sound passable at low/medium-low volume, but they are propped up quite a bit by Ford's artificial EQ programming. The "magnets" (such as they are) are the bare minimum to make sound. I got a lot of joy tossing those things in the trash.

good idea. I'm partial to Second Skin Audio only because I have used them in the past and was happy with the products. I used the stick on matte sheets, and the closed cell foam. It's still kinda hot here in Texas at the moment. If I'm going to take it all apart I may replace the stockers. I'll do what I usually do. wait for last year's name brand stuff to go on clearance this year. Hell 2 year old name brand new in box clearance is better... after doing this 25+ years no one ever made fun of me for installing top of the line name brand speakers that are factory sealed new in box that were released 2 years ago.
