Nice truck! Thanks for the pics, especially nice to see the person that is posting. Wish more people would do that.
Thanks! I almost posted the picture of myself with the dog that adopted me two weeks ago. However, I was afraid I might come in second if the two of us were compared!!;)

Honest question - did EcoBoosts get an upgraded CV axle part number? I thought only Hybrids.
It appears I made a bad ASSumption. Tremor EBs have a beefed-up CV axle. Seems there is confusion on the Lobo and the other EB models. I cannot confirm with complete certainty; anyone else have yea or nay info.?????

I do believe it is nay for regular EB cannot speak to lobo.

The positive is that regular EB CVs don’t have the failure rate of the original hybrid CVs AND the Tremors are direct replacements if you do want to upgrade.

Honestly, I think they're gonna offer me something nasty on my 34,500 mile Maverick - like $22,000. We'll see. It'll be entertaining either way, and I can take it or leave it. Zero emotional investment.
Gets some quotes from Carvana, Kelly Blue Book, etc - and print out the highest quote you can get. Use that number for your OTD calculations. If they refuse - you can walk away. At least a little until they chase you:)

What bike rack is that?! I want it for my Tremor
Rhino Rack bike rack mounted atop a Retrax bike rack compatible retractable aluminum tonneau cover.

Would not recommend for a Maverick however - our beds are much better configured for bike carrying solutions!

My upgrade from a 23 to a 25 was similar, but with hybrids. It also gave me the upgraded transmission with more torque and better gearing. $4,100 to upgrade after putting 28,000 miles on my 23. This includes AWD & 4K tow too.

My first Maverick was in Area 51 and that color was very easy to keep clean. It barely showed any dust or road grime. The only way to tell was the plastic cladding, like you mentioned, as well as the caked on brake dust on the wheels. My current Hot Pepper Red is definitely trickier but not completely terrible either. I actually haven't washed it in almost two months and it still looks pretty good with all things considered. Granted, it's been raining almost every day which kinda keeps it clean for now until it's time for a devoted wash. The metallic hue when the sun hits it makes it really pop, whether it's dirty or clean.

That was a good deal, I thought I did good. Went from a 22 eco AWD Lariat lux 40K miles to a new 24 Hybrid lariat equipped identical other than different engine $8300.

My first Maverick was a Tremor in Avalanche Gray and it was quite easy to keep clean but the Eruption Green is not. I convince myself it doesn't look that bad until I wash it and then I'm like oh yeah that is awful!

That's one of the things I like about Space White, it's easy to keep clean.

My '25 is Oxford White (aka Brilliant White), and when it starts getting dirty, it resembles Space White (a little duller than OW); so it ALWAYS looks clean...just a different color! :) Contrary to what would seem intuitive, white doesn't show dirt as bad as dark colors do. My '22 Cyber Orange didn't show dirt much either.

I had a '22 Cyber Orange XLT Hybrid, put 40k+ miles on it, and sold it for a '25 Oxford White XLT Hybrid with almost identical options; so mine is more of an apples to apples comparison.

The 2022 Pros
1) It had more immediate response to pressing the gas. Pressing the gas on the '22 got an immediate response. Pressing the gas in the '25 is a little sluggish. It's a little better with the recent upgrade, but it's not like the '22 was.

2) Physical buttons/knobs controls for radio and climate control. I hate hate HATE the controls being on the screen! I can't say how many times I've veered left or right while trying to change something like fan speed or turning off the AC.

3) Orange accents inside. I just liked the orange more than the blue. I know I can change it; but that would take time & money.

The 2025 Pros
1) The 13.2" screen and Sync4! This is almost worth the price increase alone.

2) Resetting the odometer & warranty to 0 miles.

3) Heated steering wheel. Not sure it was available on the '22 XLT, but it's worth every penny. My hands have always had poor circulation, and the vent placements made it hard to get the heat on my right hand. The heated steering wheel makes it unnecessary.

4) Gas mileage. I was getting about 43mpg (41 when I calculated it by hand) on the '22 and am now averaging about 47 (45 by hand). I'm averaging 50mpg on my current tank. When I first got the '25, I was getting around 35mpg and was afraid I had gotten a dud. Not sure if it was due to the cold (got it in January) or a break in period. I'll know once the cold weather returns.

5) The color. I really wanted orange, but Ford did a bait & switch with cyber orange on the Maverick. I've seen Rangers & F-150s that look exactly as Ford said cyber orange looked on their website. The Maverick did not. I liked the school bus yellow orange at first but eventually got tired of it. I love brilliant white and have had multiple vehicles this color, so I know it won't "get old".

The noise, comfort, quality, and ride all seem the same.

I paid $27k out the door (otd) for the '22 and $36k otd for the '25. When you adjust for inflation, the price difference was probably closer to $6k. Was resetting the mileage & warranty to 0, a bigger & better screen, a heated steering wheel, slightly better gas mileage, and a better color worth an extra $6k? 5 years ago, I'd have said no, because money was a lot tighter at home. Now? Absolutely!!

As mentioned in a past post, I sold my CG Lariat. I really loved the truck but decided it made financial sense to upgrade. My thoughts after 30k miles on the CG vs 1700 on the RR XLT.

Color.

I like both colors. The CG was more sedate, and the RR is flashier. Keeping them looking clean is two different worlds!!!! I have about 3/4 of a mile of gravel to get to paved roads. I could go months with the CG and only noted the dust on the black side trim. Also did not notice bugs as quickly. Could go two months without washing and it still looked good. RR not so much. Dust and bugs show quickly. I have my own well with hard water; RR must be quickly hand dried before ugly water spots show up.

Pros for 2022.

1. Controls much easier to use without distracting from driving. Controls on the screen in the 25 suck. I am just trying to get Alexa figured out on the RR so I can at least give some verbal commands.

2. Much Quieter both at initial startup and on the road. Could be both the acoustic windshield on the Lariat and the Michelin vs Continental tires. Startup noise per other threads is due to engine and exhaust system changes for emission control. Quiets down after gear is engaged. Road noise is more tires than windshield or differences in insulation, it seems to me.

3. Gas mileage. MSRP sticker says a difference of 1 mpg. So far, I am seeing about 2.5 mpg less with the 25 with same driving habits. My usual 500 miles per tank is no longer. 22 did not have AWD.

4. Paint was good on the 22. Only had one small chip when I sold it. Jury still out on the 25. With the metallic and clear coat on the RR, do I forgo clay bar, etc. for a while???

5. Tach scale was usable. 25 Tach is totally worthless.

Pros for 2025.

1. New warranty.
2. New heavier axles.
3. Synch 4 and radio is beyond just better!!
4. Larger screen is good.
5. New engine with some port injection.
6. Tailgate lock

General Comments.

2025 tailgate has the one cable longer than the other cable problem. This horse was beaten severely in 22. The cables on my 22 were good. Four production cycles and now I see the problem. Not a big deal, but disappointing that something this simple is still showing up.

Overall, I am happy with the switch, but mostly because I got the new one for 4500 dollars more than what I got for the 22. If the difference would have been 7 or 8k, I would still have the 22 and would still be happy. Both are nice trucks with some bang for the buck, IMHO.

Note I put the text before the pictures. This is because I remember that we all bought Playboy for the stories, not the pictures!!:)

RR would probably look better in the pictures if in full sun, but photography was never one of talents. After this post, I will now be changing my forum name from CG All the Way to RR All the Way................🙂
