I've had both; 22 EB and now a 24 hybrid. Mileage in my EB was 32-33 hwy. The hybrid looses its comparative advantage if you mostly do hwy driving but still gets more hwy mpg than the EB.

The EB may have an advantage passing on two lane roads.

Since 70-80% of my driving is in San Diego I-5 traffic, I love getting 45-46 mpg in my hybrid. When I fill the tank the range shows as 600+mi. The hybrid has no problem accelerating on an onramp into traffic. The eCVT transmission is very smooth. I love my hybrid.
Yes it seems that the EB has strong advantage at 4000-6000 RPM and probably the hybrid is better 0-3000 RPM, so since 99% of my driving is below 4000RPM the hybrid is ideal.

I’m sure my neighbor did this on purpose lol.

That’s funny. Sounds like your neighbor wants to revoke your man-card. It happens.

I like the idea (and most of the reality) of a Maverick (especially the hybrid). Haven’t bought one yet – getting closer all the time – although the magnitude and frequency of price bumps are like an anchor I’m dragging in getting to that decision. Maybe I’ll get there, maybe not, we’ll see.

You can call it many things. A truck, truck-let, mini-truck, hatchback w/o the hatch, an ‘open’ SUV, Subaru Brat on steroids, 4-door Ranchero, “Honey I Shrunk the SuperDuty”, whatever. Think Shakespeare: “What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”

I left the Ford PU community last year, after many F-150’s (and one F250) over the years and got a base trim (W/T) ’24 Chevy Silverado CCSB. I like it for what I use it for. I no longer wanted or needed a “truck to do tough truck-like stuff”, I basically wanted a tall car with a bench seat and big integral cargo basket. It suits my wants in most categories (except size – prefer smaller, and mpg – prefer larger). Would have gotten an equivalent F-150 but price was a factor (about a $4k delta advantage to the Chevy).

I’ve had my man-card revoked numerous times on a couple Chebbie forums (“It’s a bare-bones low optioned work truck! It’s got a 4-banger in a full-sized ½ ton, the horror!”). I just think of Galileo - "and yet it moves....".

I forget mine is a truck, except when backing up and using it for truck things. It drives like a car to me!

It has to be that big so you can camp in the back seat area with the seat up. It is ginormous back there!

Man a lot of these comments make the Mav owners sound as insecure as the big truck owners are accused of being. Maybe he just parked with no intention, maybe he parked thinking I'll go next to another truck. Maybe you have a neighbor that just likes his truck as much as you like yours and that is a good thing. Maybe a million other things.
