Ah thank you! I've been working in the FL heat so I'm not very crisp in my thought process. To apply the A-plan pricing offer, the customer must either complete the purchase before the expiration of the offer or place a special order thereby locking in price protection. The sales staff has to enter codes under the buyer's name in the order system as was the case in both of my special orders.

My advice to the OP, if you can get your deposit fully refunded, shop around and buy from stock or special order your truck. If not, follow through on the purchase and let this be a life's learning lesson to you.

Considering that the OP planned a one-way, nine hour family road trip around this event and lives in ridiculously overpriced California, he has the cash on hand and is simply using this forum to complain and gain sympathy to his cause.

Hello Everyone, sorry for the late response and thank you for all your help. I was able to get the truck at the price they promised ~ $39,883. The dealer did say some bad reviews influenced them though I did not yet leave any review. I drove I back on Wednesday with a road trip down highway 101 and highway 1 which is beautiful. They did try to charge twice for registration $400 which I had removed, I was not able to remove an ECH etching fee for $500 but I would say that everything else went well, they did try to sell some kind of paint protection which we denied multiple times apparently some kind of (ceramic?) coating is already on the truck. Overall, if someone is in this situation I recommend letting people on the forums know, contacting the DOJ of the state, contact ford on twitter, contact ford customer support, have a lawyer leave a message and file a complaint with the better business bureau. These things all got a response form the dealership. The DOJ on phone told me it takes months but they contacted the dealer within 10 days which is very fast. This dealership does seem to care about reviews too. The BBB also contact them even faster so not all hope is lost on a consumer end. I am lucky to have a lawyer as a friend, who was able to leave a message as well.

Overall, the truck is great, it's better than I thought. Already put 1000 miles on it and drove it over 16 hours. Family loves it, mpg is better than the tundra we had.

bless your soul, I was able to pay for the truck because I sold my toyota tundra which was old and payed off and the maverick is worth less. I guess that's a bad thing?

They can only screw you if you let them. They are banking on your lust for the truck.
Works in most cases.

I am so happy that you were able to get most of the mess cleared up and had a fabulous trip down the coast.

We are picking up our Maverick XLT (also Eruption Green or as I describe it to friends, bug gut green) today. We had placed our order on April 29 and the truck arrived on August 22. Squeeee!

Congrats on your new truck! I am so happy for you! 😃 I'm sure that you learned a few things from this experience. One being that the dealership can add whatever overpriced crap package they want to to the vehicle that they ordered for stock.

Be sure to special order next time. If they attempt anything sleazy, you have a leg to stand on.

FYI: I was overcharged by the dealership for repair to my Maverick. I fought for a month until finally at my first oil change, they handed me a check for $400.

I wish for you and your family many happy miles in your little green Maverick pickup. 💚

FWIW, a local dealer matched Granger's price (actually had to go below it to make up for the difference in the screw you fee, err, doc fee).

The towing backup assist got added to the Lariat between order and build, but they didn't ask me to pay the increased amount. (although I wouldn't have blinked at paying 3% under the increased invoice, at least before the sandbagged me with the arbitration agreement).

If you were happy with the deal, you should give a shout out to the local dealership. 👍

I had expected to.

And then they sandbagged me with the arbitration agreement--there is no chance of my going back to that dealer (or the other one owned by the same group).

I probably would have walked if the vehicle had been for me, but my wife's heart was set on it.

And if they'd brought up this material change before we agreed on terms, I probably would have been fine with it. But not like that.

Oh, and now the service department keeps emailing and messaging me because I "missed my appointment" for service at 5 moths/3000 miles. Looks like they want to do the 10k service!
