Mine was 1000. For the 22. The 23 was a nonrefundable 1000 so I didnt order.
Mine was $500.00 non refundable. Plus they agreed to my employee discount which is 5% below dealer cost. Not all Ford dealers participate in Fords AXZ program. I made sure they would honer the program before I ordered and I have it in writing. Andy Moore Ford in Plainfield IN is one of the best dealers in the country. When I worked at the Ford Indianapolis Plant, if you bought a vehicle from them they would pick your vehicle up in the parking lot at the plant take it back to the dealer to do the service and have it back before the end of your shift. They are a class act.

Not sure if Ford headquarters is aware but my local dealership required a 2000 dollar deposit on my Maverick order. In ten days it will be 8 months for my hybrid order with still no build date . I wonder if they will start paying me interest on the 2 grand ?
I ordered my '22 Nov 6, 2021 and they required a $1500 at that time. They converted my order to a '23 in August of 2022. I picked it up last Friday- 18 months.

I have no issues making a deposit when ordering... You are asking Ford to build a customized truck for you.... sure if you don't take it, the dealer can sell it... but not instantly... if someone orders a strange truck.

I've seen Black Ecoboost FWD XLTs ordered with a fancy tonneau cover, bed lighting, remote start, coPilot360, and a sunroof... but no 4K tow, no AWD, no rear slider window, no bedliner... a worthless, but expensive rig for my needs... I've seen a number of EB AWDs on lots with no 4K Tow and no rear slider.... if they'd come with those, I would have bought, but they didn't, so I didn't.

If people had to put $1000 down we would have had allot less people ordering extras to flip, or later deciding they just didn't want their Maverick after all. I mean, you're asking Ford to commit to building you a truck, it's not unreasonable to offer them a small incentive to do it. Yes, it does cost the dealer dearly to place your order... they are giving up an allocation... and if you spec a somewhat undeseriable rig, it's more work to sell it if you bail.
Yes I can see the reasoning for the deposit , the thing is at least keep me posted on the process, they said they would keep up with the notifications every 45 days. It’s been more on the lines of every 90 days for the notices .

Mine did $500 but was refundable after six months of no delivery. When I bought the Explorer due to the Maverick taking too long, they rolled the $500 over to the Explorer.
No deposit and a year and a half later when it arrived, sold at MSRP for 23 hybrid Lariat Lux. Still some reputable dealers out there.

My dealer was $100 but was told if I backed out they'd probably refund the $100 because they had such a demand for cars they knew they'd be able to sell it when it arrived no matter what configuration I chose.

Mine was $500, for the ford. 22 years ago at the Chevy dealership it was also $500 when I ordered my 4x4 2500 HD. Of course that was only a 3 month wait as opposed to more than likely a year.
I paid $30,000 for the 01 so about the same as the ford.
Chevy however didn’t have fisher price design the interior.

To add more confusion to the mix here. I put my $500 down when I ordered. When I picked up my rig 5/08 they showed the $500 as being taken off my total price (plus the rest of my down). The numbers all jived. Today, I get a check in the mail from my dealership for $500 and the paperwork with it said it was for deposit refund. The check was issued the day I picked up my Maverick on 5/08.

They may not pay you interest but there is a lot less chance that they will try to screw you when it is time to close the deal.
Never paid a red cent down but still received my 24 in 8 months
