I would never buy a Ridgeline.
Then why would you quote me when we’re talking about the Ridgeline?

We know you have a 2025 hybrid already

I’ll be checking into the 2026 Ridgeline Ice version, like what I see in pics so far
No official pictures or even leaked photos are available. But assuming it looks like the new passport and pilots it’s going to be a handsome looking truck.

Well because you mentioned a deep discount if not thinking about a hybrid.

Granted this is not from Honda and there's tons of AI crap out there on everything, but, assuming its remotely accurate, I'm very interested, have to wait and see

So a more expensive, less reliable, more compromised take on a maverick, pass.

The newer tundras and Tacomas have a way worse reliability rating than the maverick does, at least last time I checked both of those Toyota trucks had below average reliability ratings. The turbocharged engines in the tundra are blowing left and right, and tons of Tacomas are having transmission and electrical issues.

I just don't like how Toyota gets praised because "Oh they made good cars in 1997". It's just a very overhyped brand imo. With the exception of Mazda, I believe all the Japanese brands are overrated having owned most of them.
True dat !

We’re talking about Ridgelines.

Everyone got employee pricing on Fords this summer.

You mentioned a hybrid. Ridgeline doesn't have one. What don't you understand?

I think the confusion is from what's being announced on the web so far (if true) is the redesigned 2026 Ridgeline will have a hybrid and naturally aspirated v6 engine options along with redesign changes inside and out - assuming its not fake news..... But imo it does make sense, its been awhile since the ridgeline has been refreshed. Guess its a wait and see matter.

It's still a bit speculative but Toyota's North American head of planning and strategy confirmed that they are going to make a compact pickup to finally compete with the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz.

In the 70's & 80's Toyota ruled the small truck market with their SR5. Then the market changed and everything grew larger. I wonder what platform they will use for it.

Looks like not until the end of 2027. The Maverick redesign will be coming out around the same time. I still don't think Ford has much to worry about.
Ford will still have the low price XL market that Toyota is not interested in. Toyota will be looking for the high end buyers that get loaded Lariats. There's room for both companys to make money.

There is no way I’d buy a $40,000 plus mini Tacoma. If they’d offer a truck-looking vehicle under $35,000, possibly. But I’d wait until the third or subsequent model year.

First of all the Santa Cruz does not compete with the Maverick at all. Gas Mileage and Bed size are non-starter. It not a truck bed its a rear trunk with a tonneau cover on it. If the new Toyota Mid Size Truck does not get the comparable gas mileage as with the Ford Maverick Hybrid it it also a non-starter. There are plenty off Midsize Pickup trucks (Colorado, Frontier, Ranger)on the market that get shitty gas mileage.
