I bought a hard rollup tonneau cover from Ford using my points and a Memorial Day discount, so it is just a couple months old and spends most of the time in the garage. I noticed the rubber weatherstrip is coming loose at the end, there doesn't seem to be much adhesive on it. It is sticking well the rest of the way and the other side is fine. Not sure if I need to go through Ford or the manufacturer of the cover (I think it is BAK?) for a warranty claim? I am also thinking of just fixing it myself, but not sure what adhesive will stand up to the heat and moisture. Ideas?

OEM, accessories have factory warranty so you should be "covered" 😄

I'd think you'd need to go through Ford, but I'd see about ordering the parts from BAK to upgrade to the X4s with endcaps.

That would be nice to get the upgrade! I doubt they will go for it though.

Go the warranty route as previously suggested.
FYI, I have the same tonneau (it is BAK) which had a similar issue at the other end of the box, it was just past warranty. I smeared a product made by “Gloozit”. It’s marine and rv adhesive. It’s still holding, flexible, waterproof and transparent. I would recommend if all else fails.

It's just four plastic pieces that need to be changed. Two tabs that go into the cover, and the two caps that snap on.

The rubber weather strip gets trimmed back a couple inches.

would look like this:

At least your rubber strips make it to the tailgate. Mine came from the factory with the rubber touching the window leaving gaps at the tailgate which helps clean out the box in a car wash or rain 👎. Dealer recommended that I buy the caps suggested here. Why is this my problem? Would not buy this cover again on this issue alone.

I like that endcap kit! It gives it a nice finished look. I am going to send that to a friend of mine with the same cover on a Frontier, he has a 1/4" gap at the tailgate.

Still waiting after a month to hear what Ford wants to do next.

Yes, it was 102-degrees here today, but I would think that Ford knew they would sell in Southern Arizona!!!

The top of my side rails have ripples, but nothing on the sides where it is very visible. That is a nasty buckle you have there, I can't imagine they wouldn't replace that for you.

Right! But I took it to the Ford dealer on July 7th, and he says “I haven’t heard anything yet.”

I went to the dealer, they said this is a common issue. The fix is to replace the entire rubber strip. They looked at the other side, the very end of it was coming loose as well so that one will be replaced too. The fact that I installed it myself seems to have complicated things, as now it has to go through the parts department, and they will have to go through the manufacturer. Luckily I cut the sticker off the box it came in that had the model and serial number. They said it will take a couple days, but will call me when the parts are in.

I’ve been waiting since July 7th to hear about my warranty claim because my hard roll up has had the same issues. In fact, it’s already been replaced once. I’m waiting for Ford to live up to their warranty!
