Starting to compile a list of parts needed to Convert from rear I-Beam axle rear suspension to independent rear suspension, has anyone done this?

Wonder if all the body mounting points are there, if you found a front-end wrecked AWD, and could pull the rear differential housing and stuff out of it?

That is what I was thinking, I took some shots of my under carriage and there are some unused threaded holes, I just have to get under an AWD to see where exactly the mounts are, I am finding a few of the subframes on ebay

Have you driven an AWD back-to-back with yours to compare ride, and make sure all the expense and effort will actually be worth it?

Well you could start by going over to your local Ford dealer on SUNDAY !!!
Climb under an FX4 and see how they did it. Lots of pictures  Would be a place to start.

So the rear is truely independent and the ride would be better
I had a 24 Fwd hybrid and now a 25 Awd hybrid. The Fwd with the torsion beam actually rode better than the Awd with independent rear. The rear end is more bouncy with the independent rear. Maybe it’s because it’s Awd. I don’t know.

Understand the bounce but the FX4 has what I think OP is talking about. Or am I reading it wrong ?

For the springs and sway bars you should just go to the Good win racing ones get better ride and performance save some cash on the stock ones. In theory you can pull the rear off any c2: edge Bronco sports etc. I wonder if the abs style is different since the knuckles will be.

in theory it depends. At the limit of a turn the torsion beam rear is horrible for handling. The tire will toe out and create rear oversteer due to the nature of the beam. If you are within speed and turning limits of the design, the preloaded upper angled bushing keeps the toe correct. the bouncing is odd given that the struts should be able to take care of that better than separate shocks on the torsion. Sounds like a rebound adjustment issue.
It's possible the bouncing can be solved with struts. On the torson fwd rear, you can't do anything, well some people cut chunks out and weld peices on to the beam...
