Where did you mount it?
I don't have a hybrid. I have the EcoBoost. I put it on the gas door. But Even if I did have a Hybrid; I would do the same. You have a pull you can use there. In the drivers rear wheel well. Or behind the Drivers side Pillar behind the rear door.
Just my 2 cents which is worth nothing now. But I would definitely have one somewhere.

The hybrid "emergency" fuel door pull can only be used with the ignition on.
Covered on pages 177-178 on my 2023 owners manual.

You can use the same instructions for programming the truck for a new fob to be used.
Except instead of laying the fob into the reader spot, you place the keypad.

There's a thread around here somewhere with the normal instructions, and another where someone followed them with the keypad.
Is this verified to be true? I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else

Not needing dealer programming makes this worthwhile

I would consider getting one if I don’t need the dealer to program

I did not know that...... Thanks for the education. I had no Idea. Since you own one I will totally believe you. I thought it was a pull at any time. Another reason I am happy owning a 2.0L EcoBoost.

keypad is faster and more convenient than pulling out the phone, unlocking it, opening the app, sending the command, waiting.

ALSO if people leave the phone in the car for running, kayaking, whatever it's so very handy!
Exactly! I used to do the same with my town Car. I missed that when I had my FOCUS. And I mistakenly locked my keys inside THREE TIMES.

which is what it "would be a good idea."

. It uses the AT&T Cellular network. Which also carries the Data of how fast you drive; how you brake and how you drive all the time and sell the data to the insurance companies.
at least after cadillac got sued for this, sharing this info is optional.

I routinely wear an Apple watch and loaded the FordPass application. Using that in place of the keypad. I do worry at times that it won't work and will be locked out.

FYI - I received an email today informing that wireless keypads for 2025 models are beck in stock. I ordered one and will have to drive to a dealership about an hour away to pick up and have them install.
My brother has a 2010 F250 with it, never uses it, I use it every day on my 2023 MavXLTLux.

I just sold my 22 and bought a 25. I had the 22 for three years. I put a key fob in the car on the day I picked it up and never touched a key fob again. Always used the keypad. I live in a relatively safe area and like everyone else I pay insurance which also covers theft. I was assured by my agent that it would be covered even if the key was left in the car. I will definitely be getting a keypad for my 25. Interested in the self programing mentioned in this thread as it would be a real money and time and trouble saving. More info from the poster would be most appreciated.

I can’t answer for him. But have a Samsung galaxy watch. If I don’t have a cell signal on my watch, usually I don’t have one on my phone either. That’s where the keypad comes in handy. Besides, if I’m doing my exercise walk in the park, my phone is often locked inside my truck along with my keys .

You have keyless entry on the Lariat.

You can use the same instructions for programming the truck for a new fob to be used.

Has anyone been able to verify this?

I did a Google search of the site and think I found the several threads about it that were likely effecting my memory.
Incorrectly it appears.

They were not claimed examples of working, but the same "I heard on another site".
One was reference to older version instructions that no one reported back worked or that they would attempt. I've attached if someone wants to try. Key in ignition usage must be translated to push-button usage for those trims. Gotta have codes for the keypad. (this is the one where I sure thought I read someone placing it in the keyless-entry fob reading location so the keypad code could be read off it - but couldn't find that)
Couple were the reprogramming instructions where you just need original paperwork to enter new code.
A couple of the discussions were using the Ford Accessories site to order it with option to Install, and then looking up where the dealer was thru the order that would do it for $24 add-on, several of those supporting dealers had mobile units.

So I can't verify what I thought I was remembering to have read.
Sorry.
