@HeyBales already summed it up, but no need to test anything or make any wagers. The latest Bluetooth version only has a theoretical max range of 800’, so if you can get 1/4 mile away from your truck and start it with your phone - it isn’t Bluetooth.I bet it uses Bluetooth.
Got my Mav with it and have never used it. Can unlock the door with my smartwatch.
I was referring to the smartwatch.I bet it uses Bluetooth.

*Full disclosure: I do this all the time.
My smart watch can be used as a stand alone phone. So I can leave my phone at home and still unlock it as well as start it as long as I have a cell signal. But I still use the keypad since it works faster. Also, sometimes, I find it more convenient to use the keypadI bet it uses Bluetooth.
Were you also referring to the smartwatch here before anyone mentioned a smartwatch?I was referring to the smartwatch.
FordPass is by Bluetooth, cell service not needed.
Of course it does. Has zero to do with the Ford app on the phone or remote starting.I know the Maverick uses Bluetooth to talk to my cell. I forgot it one time & the display said it could not find my S24 cell phone.
Yes for UNLOCK. Not LOCK. Lock is the 7/8 9/0 at the SAME TIME.Minimum of 5 digits requires for the code to be set.
keypad is faster and more convenient than pulling out the phone, unlocking it, opening the app, sending the command, waiting. Why does anyone need a keypad if you have a cell phone?
If you order it via the Ford Accessories page it is $150 for the part and $56 for them to install it (Also minus a 15% discount). A local dealership was going to charge me $200 for the part and $200 to install it if I ordered directly through them. It wasn't worth $400+ to add it. I'm also using the rest of my Ford Points to help pay for it.I bought the wireless keypad for my 2024 Lariat thinking it was going to be a simple install. To have the keypad programmed at the local dealer they wanted to charge minimum of one hour shop charge ($200.00). It’s not worth the money to have it installed, now I’m stuck with a useless keypad.
not as far as I can tell, no.But Ford pass isn't one of them.
Nope. It uses the AT&T Cellular network. Which also carries the Data of how fast you drive; how you brake and how you drive all the time and sell the data to the insurance companies. Pull Fuse 11 and live without the remote start from 300 miles away.not as far as I can tell, no.
I was reacting to the general assertion that that was how apps work.
now, it would be a good idea for the app to be able to unlock through bluetooth, but . . .
I wish I would have had it from the beginning on mine.I was initially planning to install the exterior keypad but with the out of stock period I had time to think about it I’ll spend my $200 on something else
Where did you mount it?I wish I would have had it from the beginning on mine.
I waited, then had to use a locksmith to come out and open my truck at the window tint place. Didnt cost anything, but had to wait 45 mins for them to show up from the Ford customer service. Now that I have it I use it all the damn time again. I have had it on all my Fords since 1994. I need to have it
