Thank You. I stand corrected.
And will edit post #2
That's exactly what pictures are for.
Here's a video pertaining to the smaller factory filter. Without the serial numbers from your picture it's almost impossible to reference.

Just showing what i found on the net🤓The Motorcraft FL-910S oil filter is compatible with the 2022 Ford Maverick, specifically for the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, according to online parts retailers. It is also listed as a compatible filter for the 2.5L hybrid engine.
just what i found on internet.to get a real argument going, the filter for the ecoboost is also the same on most harley davidsons last 20 years!

It absolutely is not the same filter for Harley. Yes the filter is 3/4 by 16 unf threads. The Ford filter is 20 micron filter . The Harley is 5 micron filter. The Harley has to be 5 micron due to the close tolerance of the
cam chain piston tensioners.

Your manual will tell you to use 0W20 Full Synthetic - not a blend, for your Hybrid. Use a name brand. The Motorcraft FL910s filter is also recommended in the manual. Walmart has them. Avoid Amazon - some of theirs are counterfeit Motorcraft.

Not a bad idea to go ahead and change it, even though your Hybrid may have only operated the gasoline engine for maybe half of those 3k miles if you drive a lot of city miles.

If towing a lot, you'll need to change it using severe duty recommendations.
🤔 The OEM filter is a regular filter size for a Maverick?
Correction
Ford doesn't install a smaller filter just for production. If I'm wrong.
I am wrong
I would sure like to see a side-by-side picture comparison.
and here is the picture proof👇👇

Yes. The Oil weight is 0w20 as stated in at least two places. Your manual and if you forget or don't feel like referring to the manual. Open the hood, it's on the oil cap👍

My 23 owner's manual states Full Synthetic for the hybrid 2.5

I call the factory installed oil filter the lie detector. Seeing the two filters reminded me of something that happened when I worked at a Lincoln dealership. We had a customer who had purchased a Mark LT pickup, and it came in with an engine knock. It had 45,000 miles. The engine is full of sludge and had obviously been neglected. So our manager told him it would not be covered because he had not had regular oil changes. The customer came back a couple of days later with some " receipts " from an independent shop. Our manager told him that the receipts were not going to suffice. The customer got loud. Our manager then told him that he needed to get his money back from whoever did his oil changes because his truck still had the original factory oil filter on it 😂😂. The receipts were obviously fake because they were numbered and consecutive order even though the dates were different. But I will manage it not even have to go there because of that factory oil filter still being on the truck. What's worse is that at that time Lincoln's received two complimentary oil changes. How late does a person have to be to not come in for a free oil change?

As stated in the manual. 0w-20 full synthetic is the place to start with the oil. You pick your poison there.

Oil filters have become a real poop show with a lot of manufacturers cutting corners. Lots of people testing, and cutting open filters to find there are real issues right now and they seem pretty wide spread. Some manufacturers who have built a good reputation have been bought out by a conglomerate and quality is suffering across many of the brands they own. It was only caught by some really nuts, I mean dedicated individuals who are obsessive about their oil and oil changes and filter cutting them open to find tearing media, glue all over the place, gaps in the media etc. In some cases they paid a lab to do some testing for them.

Motorcraft at the moment appears to be caught up in some of that controversy. It is kind of hard to recommend a filter at the moment. Some of these internet sleuths are recommending one company that produces filters under different names. You would know them by Napa Gold, Carquest Premium and others. You can find the threads on Bob is the Oil Guy forum where some of the resident experts are recommending these at this time.

I would say if it is concerning to hear that the oil filters have problems then I would recommend spending some time over on that other forum just doing some preliminary research before you buy filters. Once you find one that is good it is probably worth it to snag multiples so that you have a stockpile for if the quality goes down hill on the one you have been using.

Just changed mine on my 2nd Engine at 3k miles. 41,500 miles on the truck.

Did it the first time at 4k on the original engine.

First oil change in my Hybrid was at 9000. Oil Life reminder was at 42%. Could have done it at 5,000....7,500....or 10,000 even. You will never know the difference....the truck will never know the difference. BUT...be yourself....you do you and change it whenever you feel comfortable.

I tried to search for it without luck. When are people doing their first oil change on a new maverick.
I know the “OEM factory filter” is smaller then normal and have a coupon to get oil a little cheaper so thinking about doing it this weekend I’m just over 3000K and have pulled my camping trailer a couple times.
What is the weight of the oil? 0W 20?
5000 miles per fords recommendation.
