How strong is the demand for the Maverick really?

Been trying to pick up a Mav for about 3 months. Ideally just looking for an XLT with the 4k tow package. Relatively flexible on the color.

First, spent time chasing down used options. Found a handful of options but the prices basically right around 30k (before taxes and fees) for an XLT w/4k tow and not much else (2023). Then, seemed like that was a little bit silly because you can get a new XLT for about $33k with a full warranty. Would love to get a new '24 but none near by me and shipping kind of kills the deal.

Anyways, some people seem to be saying they are ordering and waiting. Meanwhile, following the market for a while, it doesn't look like anything is selling - used or new. Especially on the used - many of the same trucks that were listed 3 months ago are still sitting around. Some of had some modest price drops but lots of other sitting at the same price.

So what really is happening with the market?

did a quick search on cars.com and it seemed like there are possibly over 4000 nation wide. Do a search with your zip.... saw some 2024's for as low as $25K

So what really is happening with the market?

The market is highly variable due to a number of factors. Not necessarily a complete list:

• Locality. As you mention shipping is typically a deal breaker. Travel costs also can make venturing far from home not realistic. Big cities are going to have more dealers and inventory than rural areas. Allocations also plays a role here. Many threads on that topic.
• Trim level. XLT is highest production volume so likely the easiest to find.
• Drive train Hybrid vs EB as previously mentioned.
• Options. If buying off the lot, dealers order the options they think will sell fastest and may vary based on their particular customer base. Sometimes they get it wrong, so a particular configuration may sit for longer than usual.
• Incentives. Employee pricing likely bumped up demand
• Order backlog and production volume. Production capacity is limited. The more customer orders, the fewer vehicle that are offer on the lot (blue vs green window sticker) This was especially true the first 3 years when demand greatly exceeded production. 2025 finally looks to be balancing out. (AWD Hybrid 4K tow might be an exception since that is new for 2025)
• Used market is highly dependent on who is willing to sell. Many people love their Maverick which results in low used inventory and high resale value.

Those are good prices on those MY24 XLTs! Nice that you bumped up the tires to 235s! Good color selection too (fan of the HPR and AG, worth every penny for the color upgrade)

Actually when you order the optional wheel those are the tires you get. At the end of 2024 production they had supply issues with the standard XL and XLT wheels so dealers had to order this configuration to fulfill their allocations.

Three dealers within 40 miles of me.
Eight Mavericks for sale, Four at my closest dealer.
So many on the roads I quit looking for them.

My three local dealers got F-150’s and Rangers by the dozens at each dealer.
Many reasons for that.

I can find many of Mavs to buy but not any real deals. That's what I don't understand.

Just saw quite a number of mavs in Surprise Az at the local Ford dealership. Either Chapman or Sanderson Ford in Surprise Az

I just traded my 2024 XLT Hybrid for a 2025 Ecoboost XLT (needed 4000 tow package). Dealer had 23 Mavericks on the lot; 4 of which were AWD XLT's with the 4000 tow package. I got the friends and family deal and a $1000 military discount from Ford. Excellent trade in value also. I'm in NC

I got my 25 this week had been looking for about 3 weeks up here in Canada. Its not hard to find them and you can easily haggle with the dealers now the tables have turned. All car lots doesnt matter the make are overflowing with vehicles. When I bought my 22 during covid it was almost impossible to find one I got lucky to find one at the time but now its the opposite.

Up until a week ago, there wasn't a Hybrid on the lots near here, so demand most definitely depends on the trim & powertrain. Hybrid orders are still outpacing production capacity significantly, as are Lariat models apparently.

There do seem to be quite a few XL/XLTs locally, some with FX4 packages, and even a couple of Black Appearance Packages.

I also see a LOT more Mavericks on the road than I did even six months ago, so they appear to popular in these parts.

The Maverick supply is fine. Ford has 100 days of vehicles in stock, which is higher than industry average and higher than Ford has had for the last 3 years.

The Maverick has had a burst of sales in the last 5 months due to announcement of tariffs on Mexico that were expected to lead to sharp price increases. Because of brisk Maverick sales and expectations that prices are only going up, dealers aren’t trying hard to unload their older stock because they are already priced cheaper than new arrival Q2 2025 vehicles.

My dealer in Boerne, Texas has 22 new XLTs listed. Some on the lot, some in transit.

For instance, I have had my eye on a 2024 Mav that has been on the lot for 8 months and they wont budge further than the Ford offer of $1K off the $36K price. They have 6 other 2024s on the lot.

The 2026s will be out before they sell it.

The remaining '24 models are getting snatched up quickly. I made the decision earlier this year to get a Maverick but I didn't like the look of the '25 models (it has grown on me after seeing them in person). At the minimum, I wanted a 2024 XLT EcoBoost w/ 4K Tow package. I looked at dealerships in every corner of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and western Montana. I found that a lot of dealers were offering incentives to get '24 models off the lot to make room for '25 models. I noticed in more urban areas like Seattle, Portland, Spokane, and Boise, there was a lot of hybrid models for sale; probably a 3:1 ratio of hybrid to EB models. It could be survivorship bias but I have a feeling that dealers are going to order more of what there's demand for, hence the surplus of hybrids in those areas.

I wound up going to a dealer about 300 miles away from where I lived but they knocked $3,000 off the sticker price simply by virtue of wanting to get the 2024 models off the lot. In addition to trade in value, $500 bonus cash for working in law enforcement, and another $500 in bonus cash for switching to Ford from another major brand; I only paid about $26,500 for my Mav.

I live in a rural area with lots of farmers and ranchers so I see a lot more half ton and three-quarter ton trucks. I've seen probably a half-dozen or so other Maverick owners ('22-'24) driving around my county. Although I've seen 2-3 new '25 models pop up around town in the last few weeks. When I was at my local Ford dealer getting an oil change a week ago I saw they only had one Maverick on the lot, but probably a dozen or so Rangers.
