I know that I said earlier that I was not going to have the Mav ceramic coated, but I changed my mind and had it done this week. Cost was $1250.00 Will need to be updated again in a year for $99.

Dont take this the wrong way but 1400 dollars and using paste wax for about 40 bucks and the truck paint would look the same after 10 years. Waiting for my " ok boomer" reply 😆
I'm too lazy to apply elbow grease.

A year probably means a refresh spray unless it was a spray on wax.

Hehe well don't use paste wax since spray ceramics are much better. Great thing a bit a new car though is applying ceramic doesn't take much prep work. Ceramic as a value proposition is different to everyone though- just be careful going through car washes and what soap you use. $100 refresh each year sounds like they're just doing a wash and adding a refresher spray.

The value proposition is a huge difference compared to paste wax! 1400 dollars for initial application, then 100 a year after that. In 10 years you will see no difference in the paint compared to using paste wax. 2400 dollars for ceramic compared to about 40 dollars for paste wax. I know what I will be using!

I bet it’s a fallout cleaner. That’s what most do. I have a few cars ceramic coated. And when they start to show signs of not beading water. I spray it will the fallout cleaner and spray it off bounces right back.
Probably that and a spray to coat.
I can say after my RS sat for two years it’s still beaded water and looked clean enough to drive after just a light spray off.

Yeah decon the paint and then use the appropriate booster spray. I don't personally care for ceramic coating because of the effort needed vs. spray sealants but I also wash my car at home every other week or so.

Paste wax is for retirees and show cars haha. Spray sealants is the way to go Ceramic coating is good if you want minimal maintenance. If you do it yourself it only costs $100-$200 for 3-5 year coating.

Ya I have sprays that work ok. But that is ok if I’m washing it regularly. But I do love my ceramic for easy of cleaning. Seems like a simple rain is now a car wash

I was told by the detailer who applied it that all I needed to do to keep it clean was to take it to a DIY car wash and rinse it off with water.
