Wow, your truck looks amazing, great job! I love Adams Polishes! I'm going to clay & wax, but not ceramic, hopefully this week. Baby steps, lol.
Thank you so much! I think you’ll love it 🙂 nothing at all wrong with baby steps!
I wonder whether there is a difference between the $1500 ceramic coating professionals offer and the cheap kits people attempt themselves.

Probably decent stuff, but visually the truck shown in photos looks the same as mine after using hybrid ceramic (or even regular paste) wax.

I had one car ceramic coated, but it had an expensive custom paint job. The Maverick just isn’t valuable enough for professional work, so these diy kits or just regularly waxing seem appropriate to me.
A laaaarge portion of that price tag is the know-how and the time. The products I used are great but I’m sure there are a ton of people that could’ve done better work with it! I agree; that’s why I chose to do it myself and save the money 🙂
Right? Seriously though, it looks great. How long did it take you?
Thank you very much! I appreciate your kind words. It took about 9 hours total after doing the boost today.
Looks Great!!!

If you had any ceramic coating left, have you tried using it on the hard plastic inside, especially the bottom of the door and then perhaps inside and the door handle. Thinking it will make cleaning that area a bit easier. Hope it would help a speck on the light scratches as well.
Oooo I’ll have to give this a go! Thank you!
FYI……if you want a GREAT longer term tire solution, Feynlab Black Velvet tire sealant is pretty good. Lasts several months with a satin to gloss shine in normal use. $15-20 for a bottle. Do NOT get it on the rims or your clothing. It will not come off easily. Make sure the tires are good and clean of all that brown crap buildup. Put down a base layer, allow to dry, then one or two more. Once the “base” coating is established, it will be quite durable. They have another one that will last a year but the extra cost isn’t worth it and it’s only for commercial detainers, supposedly.
I haven’t heard of it before; I’ll look it up and see if it would be a good fit! Thank you for the recommendation!

Absolutely 🙂 thank you!

So happy with how it came out! Still have to VRT the trim and apply the ceramic boost tomorrow after the coat cures but I think it turned out wonderfully! Sure there were areas I could have improved but I am happy with my results 🙂

Process used:
1) wash with Adam’s car shampoo
2) claybar with clay lube (chemical guys)
3) Adam’s ceramic coating kit (not the quick spray stuff) step one, basically isopropyl alcohol on one body panel at a time.
4) Adam’s ceramic coating kit step two in 2’x2’ sections as it describes on the body panel prepped in step 3.
5) buff off when rainbow effect appears (15s-30s).
6) Adam’s graphene detail spray on wheels
7) Adam’s tire dressing
8) Adam’s detail spray on windows and trim (though I think I could have done better here but I was exhausted at this point!)

I think it turned out great 🙂 pics:

I must have gotten the same kit as you, looks great btw, I also did mine yesterday. Where did it say when to put the ceramic boost on? I did not see that in the instructions.
I really love the kit! It was easy to put on and had everything you needed except the paint correction stuff.

The second photo is looking at the hood, showing how reflective it is after the ceramic was added.

Looks awesome, great job! Mine said you can apply the boost after 12-24 hours of curing.

That looks really nice. I'm thinking of getting my Maverick done, but done by professionals as I have zero confidence in my ability to be that meticulous, plus time consuming. I got a bid of $625 with 5 year warranty. I will probably get the SIBL first. How long did it take you?
Might want to ask the company that gave you that quote what steps they take in the prep process before thy apply the ceramic coating. That is where the cost is.

I did mine today.

Chemical Brothers Foam Soap Spray
Chemical Brothers Clay Bar and Spray (and windows)
Chemical Brothers HydroSlick (Windows too)

It's now sitting in the garage as the instructions say its needs not to be in the sun for about 3 hours after applications of HydroSlick.

Took my 5 hours total.

I'm hurting, haven't climbed up and down a ladder in a while.

It looks amazing but personally I'm not sold on ceramic coat. After talking to body shops in my area, they hate working on cars that have ceramic coat on the paint because it bonds to the paint and does not come off easily.
LOL, so it does what it's supposed to do...

It should last around 2 years but it can be extended with occasional use of a SiO2 wash or detail as a ceramic boost 🙂

That looks pretty good except if this was in order of their process they are missing IPA before the coating process to insure they have cleaned any contaminants from the polishing..

I also applied Adam's "UV Graphene Ceramic Coating" 7 year protection almost 3 weeks ago and have washed it a couple of times since. Personally, I found polishing (Adam's white pad) prior to coating a real added benefit and it definitely improved both clarity and luster of the paint. Understand I really liked the original paint job to begin with, so I was surprised how much of a difference it made. I agree that the truck looks / stays cleaner longer and the hydrophobic properties is very obvious! As far as the product I really did appreciate the UV implementation during application and it is NOT a marketing gimmick, it absolutely helped me (being a 1st timer at this). I used the UV flashlight while I was applying to ensure a complete and even application, it was very easy!

1st (2) pictures are Post-Ceramic and the 3rd is Pre-Ceramic. Although lighting is different I know I can tell the difference!

Thank you! It does help, but it does not make it immune! Just added protection :)

Gorgeous, you did a wonderful job with it! I love the red :) Yours likely turned out much better than mine since you were able to visually identify any inconsistencies on the spot with the UV light. I hope it lasts you a long time!
