You can try to get a consensus of opinions from members of this board--many of which are based on old wives' tales and folklore from yesteryear--or you can simply follow the manufacturer's recommendation found in your owner's manual, which is based on literally MILLIONS of hours of test data.Just a general inquiry my 2025 xlt echoey is at 2k miles.
How often should I be changing the oil I want this truck to last me.
anything else I can check to make sure it lives
did anyone mention rust protection?Just a general inquiry my 2025 xlt echoey is at 2k miles.

I really wonder if the unibody will end up being the real limiting factor for those Mavs living in the North. This is modern uncharted territory for many of our auto makers. Who knows what the truck body will do after years of exposure. I'm sure they've done testing and or applied computer tech and all that, we also still have that left rear wheel well that most folks think is an obvious oversight. Time we'll tell. In the mean time it is a wise move to attempt to head off any problems through prevention (fluid film, wheel well correction, regular flushing, etc).did anyone mention rust protection?

How much product did it take? Also, how many coats? Finally, what was the billExcellent thoughts
Last week I dropped all the underbelly panels for my KROWN oil spray anti-corrosion. Everything looks well protected already down there.
I like things to last and corrosion/rust never sleeps...especially when salt and moisture combine in nooks and crannies.
All buttoned back up now.
It just takes time, a battery powered drill set to super gentle drive setting to not damage any of the fittings, decent ramps and a good creeper to get under the truck. And a good flashlight of course.
Maybe mark which end of each panel is forward and left/right...that would have helped...

I had the job done (one coat) as they do the holes in the doors etc if needed. How much product did it take? Also, how many coats? Finally, what was the bill![]()
Thank you Andy!I had the job done (one coat) as they do the holes in the doors etc if needed.
I took care of the under panels at my own speed (super slow) as it isn't their job or part of the quote.
Please see attached invoice. Money well spent to me, I dislike unnecessary corrosion.
I personally would not use any hard coatings as they flex, cracked and then make your potential corrosion problems worse than without anything applied.
Cheers,
Andy![]()
You are of course, very welcome.Thank you Andy!
