california, 1996.Oh dear
That's just stupid on their part and if they are that stupid in business, how stupid might they be fixing vehicles. You're probably better off.My wife '23 Lariat has the water intrusion on the pax side. Tried to make have the local dealership take a look at it and was told that they won't look at it because we didn't purchase it from them. Even though we have had it serviced there since we purchased it.
You mean pot is still illegal in NY?NO state can over rule a federal law. If they could a state simply could allow dealers to not honor ANY warranty work. But they can't. I have a Ford dealer 4 miles from my home and I wouldn't buy there or have service done there if it was free. Had service done once after a person hit my Explorer in the right front wheel and did damage. Insurance paid for it AFTER I refused to accept the work and it was taken to another dealer. Seems they had invoiced for NEW Ford control rods, rotors, hubs, a arms, fender, etc. yet put parts from a junk yard on it! How did I know? New rotors and a arms aren't solid rust out of the box. The body shop manager was fired but I still won't go there. Also there lot is in such bad condition with pot holes and junk cars parked on it that you get the feeling they have no pride in their work.
Call your serviceman from original dealer ...... he'll make a call ........ been there done it! Ford gets on their case pronto.Ask to speak to the owner or at least the general manager. Ask him if he refuses to do Ford warranty work. If he or she says YES then contact Ford and report the dealership. If it is not a warranty issue a dealer can refuse service but likely will lose my business forever.

Totally agree with you.Call your serviceman from original dealer ...... he'll make a call ........ been there done it! Ford gets on their case pronto.
What would the dealer do if you bought your Maverick from a private party?Fortunately, I have a few other dealerships relatively close by—if that weren’t the case, I’d really be in a tough spot.
Being denied service, especially for a warranty issue, is just unacceptable. In over 37 years of owning vehicles, I’ve never once experienced anything like this.
rear half shaft failure has been extremely uncommon that I have seen.My selling dealer said my Maverick needed a RR half shaft. OK. Set everything up for repair and they dropped the ball. Scheduled but did not get part. Call another dealer and they said it would be $100 just to look at it. I asked if that was covered by warranty and they said they would get back to me. That was 1 week ago. 9500 miles and half shafts going bad? What is yet to come?
