So, I'm slated to pick up my new 25 XL Maverick this week. Am I reading this correct that it does not come with Sirius? I thought all modes came with Sirius based on reading the ordering guy that was an update with SYNC 4 new for 25 that all modes came with Sirius so am I wrong? If doesn't have Sirius can you add it as a dealer installed option?
When we purchased our 2024 XLS we thought the same and were shocked that it did not have Siriusxm.

I know it is standard on the Lariat, but I would say ... No Siriusxm on a 2025 XL, unless you special ordered it.

We had to add it to out Mav after the fact.

Still shaking my head that it was not standard...

Can you have your dealership add it as dealer installed item? Just trying to cover my bases.

No help to anyone here, just telling my story. Bought a lifetime Sirius subscription in 2006 for $500. My wife thought I was crazy. This was way before they had the app. Couldn't be happier. The old head unit and boom box are in a closet somewhere.
Brian, I'm guessing you were/are able to transfer the subscription to your subsequent vehicles then? Were Sirius and XM one company at that time? If not, does that make a difference?

Thanks.. If I can't use my flex points I'll probably just stick with Amazon Music streaming from my phone when I am in the car (and via my firestick at home).

It's only $10 a month for the unlimited music adder to Prime and has no commercials, plus it has on-demand albums/artists and you can have it build a station on the fly; "play a Jimmy Buffet station". In addition to a very extensive catalog of artists and lps, there's quite a bit that streams in ultra-high-def (great on a good home stereo) with 6x the resolution of a CD.

Not sure what to do with my flex points. Most of the accessories are either high-priced or not what I'm interested in, and I do my own maintenance. I have the Ford premier extended warr with zero deductible too. I won't be using the Ford navigation or hot spot so I see no need to the connected services as long as I have my phone with me.
I used my flex points for a service, a hood deflector and part of another service. Use your points or you will lose them, they don’t last long.

Appears to be standard on all 2025 models with Sync 4. Unless this comparison is wrong.
The loaner 2025 Bronco Sport base model I'm driving has it as well.

Got about 400 songs from the 60s and 70s and some 80s on my iPhone which I play through the Lariat sound system. Easy to pull them off FB with the right apps. Actually most came off my cd collection. Don’t need no steeking Sirius.

After my three free months of Sirius I signed up for $9.95 a month. I like it.

Classic vinyl,
Hair Nation,
Ozzy and Classical.
Country only if it’s the Highwaymen.
David Allen Coe was cool.
I still can’t believe we have to pay to listen to the radio.
What really stuns me is everyone seems to be ok with this.
I miss my local DJ’s
I miss the Ron and Ron show.
I miss Rush Limbaugh.
Howard Stern is an Idiot.

None of my vehicles had build in Sirius, so I just used the head until with the antenna until the app came out. There is way more content and I do not have issues with cell phone coverage. The app is great because you can play it in any car or computer. It does restrict you to one user at a time though. I believe there is/was a transfer fee if you go that route.
Edit - Sirius was stand alone at the time.

Hey all. Just picked up out 25 Larait. Comes with 3 months of Sirius. I already subscribe to Amazon music which is awesome, but I figure I might enjoy Sirius too. Some questions:

Can you use FordPass reward points to pay for the subscription? I would wait for their desperation emails offering bargain rates but I have points to use and this seems like a good place to spend them.

once you have a subscription for the car, can you also play on fire stick.?

anyone know what the stream bit rate is? 16-bit / 44.1 khz is standard for a CD. Anything less sucks.

thanks

We purchased the hardware and the dealer installed it.

Satellite Radio Superstore
Ford SiriusXM Radio OEM Factory Radio Kit. GSR-FD01 was my kit.

I have 2 lifetime subscriptions I bought back in 07 or 08. It was I think 500.00 a piece and it was a year payment plan.

That gave us 2 vehicles with SXM and 2 streaming accts.

I like the streaming as it has more sub channels. I like the Octane Top Hits. Not available on the normal satellite. THere is also Rock Bar. Again not on the satellite feed.

With the lifetime; if I change vehicles, they charge me I think 35.00. But if you push a pencil to the total cost I think I have paid like 55.00 a year for 2 vehicle service. And when you rent a car you still have it with streaming. Or in a frends car or ........ To me it is a well worthwhile investment. I think they now charge 1000.00 for lifetime. I looked into it for my son. Def Not worth it now days.

Any suggestions on a good streaming service? I've got Amazon Music HD and it sounds good through their little speakers. I tune in through my Marantz stereo system and it sounds like someone threw a blanket over the speakers.
I stream Pandora, Spotify and Sirius/XM from my RZ-70 through my 7.2.4 setup, and it sounds pretty good for steaming. Not as good as my multi-channel SACDs, but again pretty good.

Back when Sirius used to do the lifetime subscriptions for three or $500, you were allowed to transfer it to two other vehicles besides the one you purchased it for so a total of three in all.

Looks like it’s marginally better than mp3 from the satellites…a bit better via the internet data stream. Not very good.
