Hey all. Just picked up out 25 Larait. Comes with 3 months of Sirius. I already subscribe to Amazon music which is awesome, but I figure I might enjoy Sirius too. Some questions:

Can you use FordPass reward points to pay for the subscription? I would wait for their desperation emails offering bargain rates but I have points to use and this seems like a good place to spend them.

once you have a subscription for the car, can you also play on fire stick.?

anyone know what the stream bit rate is? 16-bit / 44.1 khz is standard for a CD. Anything less sucks.

thanks

I have Sirius in both my vehicles.
You can stream it on your phone or computer with their app and also on Amazon Alixa with an app I believe.
As Sirius is not owned by Ford you probably can't use Ford pass points.
As an fyi I've been a customer going back to 2014 in our first wrangler and never paid their full price even when I forgot the auto renewal.
Just call them and threaten to quit and it ends up being about $120.00 per year for the same service that came with the car.
I'm a 60's early 70's guy so only listen to one channel Classic Vinyl, but my wife is a dial switcher, so she gets her money's worth in her car.
Either way for me it is worth it.

My XLT didn’t come with an XM option and I’m so disappointed. Had it in my last vehicle and enjoyed it. Streaming is great when it works as cell coverage gets spotty so does the streaming, very irritating.

...........Can you use FordPass reward points to pay for the subscription?......
Hi, Guy. If Ford is still offering the "Fordpass points for Sirius XM credit" then yes. I did it twice. 20,000 points = $100 Sirius credit. It will show up in your Sirius account as a gift card.(ON EDIT: They do still offer it. ) https://www.ford.com/support/fordpass/fordpass-rewards/rewards/detail?rewardCode=SXM2025A100
...........I would wait for their desperation emails offering bargain rates but I have points to use and this seems like a good place to spend them...........
The credit bought with points is separate from any subscription. You will need a plan. You could continue to go with the Sirius plan Ford provides, pick another plan or negotiate your own. I have had Sirius for years and called each year to renegotiate a plan price. I finally tired of that and just picked a plan that provides Sirius to both my wife and my vehicles and access to two Sirius app accounts. Our plan is $21.76 per month total, and the plan price will not expire after a year. If you don't mind negotiating each year, I am sure you could do better. We have music only. I don't listen to talk shows or sports, so didn't want either of those.

I can't help with your other questions. I've read the app's sound quality is higher than what the satellites is, but I can't hear a difference. My ears are 1960's models, though. Ears made more recently I'm sure are better quality hearing.

I listen to deep tracks too. Was a bit annoyed when they changed to channel it uses. I subscribe for 2 cars. I am thing of canceling one and use streaming on the other.

Thanks.. If I can't use my flex points I'll probably just stick with Amazon Music streaming from my phone when I am in the car (and via my firestick at home).

It's only $10 a month for the unlimited music adder to Prime and has no commercials, plus it has on-demand albums/artists and you can have it build a station on the fly; "play a Jimmy Buffet station". In addition to a very extensive catalog of artists and lps, there's quite a bit that streams in ultra-high-def (great on a good home stereo) with 6x the resolution of a CD.

Not sure what to do with my flex points. Most of the accessories are either high-priced or not what I'm interested in, and I do my own maintenance. I have the Ford premier extended warr with zero deductible too. I won't be using the Ford navigation or hot spot so I see no need to the connected services as long as I have my phone with me.

SiriusXM often offers retention plans to keep customers subscribed.

5 years or $99 for 3 years, available to select returning customers

These plans typically require you to call their customer service and express interest in canceling your subscription, which might prompt them to offer you a retention deal.

Any suggestions on a good streaming service? I've got Amazon Music HD and it sounds good through their little speakers. I tune in through my Marantz stereo system and it sounds like someone threw a blanket over the speakers.

No help to anyone here, just telling my story. Bought a lifetime Sirius subscription in 2006 for $500. My wife thought I was crazy. This was way before they had the app. Couldn't be happier. The old head unit and boom box are in a closet somewhere.

So, I'm slated to pick up my new 25 XL Maverick this week. Am I reading this correct that it does not come with Sirius? I thought all modes came with Sirius based on reading the ordering guy that was an update with SYNC 4 new for 25 that all modes came with Sirius so am I wrong? If doesn't have Sirius can you add it as a dealer installed option?
