My one month old Lariat. No kidding. February 19th purchased and March 21st hit by a guy without breaks. Airbags deployed, windows and doors unlocked, and the truck called 911 immediately! I was so impressed that I said “wow” while on my side. Thankfully, everyone was okay. I’m just so impressed with the safety of this truck.
Glad you're okay, apart from the broken glass and the dent where the car hit the truck took that hit very good while maintaining body structure

1) Glad you walked away from this one.. ;)
2) After being on this forum for 27 months now (and owning my MY22 for that period).
If the worst would happen. I am more worried about loosing the use of my Mav, then being hurt. Since, they seem to be holding up VERY well in the structure department..

Be sure to post pics, when you get your replacement Mav.. :)

Glad you're OK OP.

It looks like you were hit on the passenger side. It's amazing how the windows are still intact.

That would have been one hell of a dash cam video.

It's VERY common to feel the effects of a major injury hours or days after the fact for something like a vehicle accident. The swelling and inflammation can take that time to develop, and the adrenaline takes longer than you think to wear off.

Sorry to hear that - glad you're okay and the Maverick did its job wonderfully.

I used to drive that stretch through Fort all the time on my way to visit friends at UW-W.

Wow! You came out of it a winner. Your truck, not so much but I hear they will sell you another one. Just be certain that the insurance gives you the value it takes to purchase one should tariffs actually go into effect.

And let's hear it for all the years our government raised crashworthyness and safety standards over the objections of the auto industry. My mother was killed instantly by a drunk driver in a T-bone accident 21 years ago in her 1985 car without airbags and without side beams in the doors.

Thankfully insurance is going to work out.
Mmmmm, you sure about that? If you have the option, might be time to "lawyer up" on this one.

Well you don't have brakes when you don't push the brake pedal, so the teen is 1/2 right.
Glad that you are okay .

Young man was probably texting... I found this Werner Herzog video compelling.

A good view, especially for those with teen drivers..

You have go to be kidding me! I am so glad you are ok. Please make sure to visit a chiropractor. This type of accident always results in a mis-alignment of your spine, from the neck all the way down to the tail bone.

Yeah that sucks totally feel your pain on the one month old truck. Sadly some people just drive like morons and or don't maintain their vehicles.
Here’s the other guy.
They're driving a chevy (check the rims), I believe his brakes didn't work :)
Glad you're ok though, that's nasty.

This situation reeks of litigation.
Good friend was rear-ended by a non-licensed teen with no insurance last year.

Friend=broken back, 5 broken ribs, broken collar bone, 2 weeks in intensive care, etc. 7-8 months home confinement. His vehicle insurance covered his totaled vehicle, but medical care took a lawyer to collect $159,000 from his own insurance company. Lawyer took 40% of settlement but 8 months of unemployment hurt. His "uninsured motorist clause" saved his ass. Teenage girl nor family had no source of assets to recover any monetary damages, not a penny. The rule of "can't get blood out of a turnip" applied to auto wrecks.

He was definitely on his phone. Dumb fucking kids these days.
insurance companies can pull phone records these days from his phone and from his cell provider. they can pull call, text and data records. they'll know if he was on his phone.

Even on its side, it's a good-looking truck. I am sorry for your soreness and your loss.
