I read online somewhere that many lane assist systems disable when towing because of something to do with trailer sway, either causing it, or making it worse. I don't remember exactly what it said but something like that.

I haven't fully explored Forscan as it relates to the Maverick. It's possible that there is something that can be tweaked in Forscan to allow it to operate with a Trailer attached.
Now that is exactly what I wanted to know! If you could post when/if you ever find out about it. Thank you.

If you read and understood the post you shouldn't have commented as you did. Again dealer didn't record that is was working as designed, just the opposite.

The abridged owners manual now supplied, does not include that information.
The full manual is downloaded in your infotainment system.

I am sure you are right, but with any autonomous features there is a chance of problems and legally they all fall back on the driver. The steering wheel is easily overpowered if necessary and a tap of the brake pedal disables all of it. And as you have read, I have used it extensively with no problems.

I will not sit in my vehicle and read hundreds of pages, I just won't. Sorry, I come from a different time period where it was unnecessary for the first part of the chapter to tell me not to drink the battery acid. The manuals have gotten so large that the company can't afford to print them.

Yes you are right it did come with a very basic 1/4" thick manual that doesn't cover much and not the 1" plus thick book that came with my 23.
And my 23 Maverick had lane centering with trailer attached, so why can't the more expensive 25 have it?
Basically I was hoping for info on how to make it work, which I see won't happen. Times have changed. I will do it myself.
Previously Ford just strongly discouraged it, as seen in the manual. That apparently wasn't enough, so they had to turn it off in the 2025 models so as to protect other drivers from distracted or tired Maverick drivers towing trailers.

It's crazy how people can still act shocked when their clearly dangerous behaviors end in tragedy.

You're in luck! You can read the entire manual online and even do a search through it for whatever you're looking for. As a bonus, you can download the PDF to read at your convenience, and if you have a tablet or phone, on the toilet!

I have no problem if someone wants to do something that the manual warns that they shouldn't do. What bothers me is when people do it, something bad happens and then they try to blame the manufacturer or sue the manufacturer. That's what bothers me.

If you want lane centering while towing I believe Chevy offers it as a feature on their vehicles.

25 Hybrid with tow package, when towing any size trailer, the lane centering feature doesn't work. I brought it to the dealer, they looked at it for a couple of hours and said everything looked ok and to bring back with a trailer. Until I do, I have to tow the trailer with the light cord tucked in so it looks like it is connected but then dont have any lights (is is flatbed so truck lights visible). I take it on 12 hour drives and really want that feature to work (without disconnecting the light cord). I think when you pay for the safety features they should work, in concert with each other. I don't want to tow a camper cross country and not have the feature I purposely ordered the vehicle with not working. I bet it is "engineered" that way by some desk jockey. Any ideas? I am thinking I have to rewire a new trailer plug and tap off the tail and brake light wires (switched to LED, so the signal/brake circuit has lower amp draw). I will have to experiment with the brake circuit to see if the truck will realize and cancel the lane centering or not, if so then a aftermarket brake controller...what a mess! It will cancel the Lane centering even if trailer is small with not brakes (even set to min sizes or if the no trailer connected button is used).
All you have to do is plug a light bar into trailer plug and put the light bar in the bed while at the dealer.

yeah, he doesn't want to sit in the car and read page after page. i can understand that. just pointing out there are other options available. he can even print the pdf out to paper if that's what he really needs. in the end, ignorance is really no excuse. you should be reading the manual to even understand how the features work vs. blindly stabbing at buttons and praying for the best.

The thing is you don't have to read page after page. You can select what you want to research.
When I screenshot and post stuff from the manual on the forum. I don't look through every page, that's what index, table of contents and the search function is for.
