Best all around "readily available" oil for the 2.0 Ecoboost?

Just laid down the keesh for a new 25 Mav XLT, 4K, FX4, LUX PKG. I know this can be a contentious subject but here goes... I've been a Mobil 1 guy for some time now. My question is which oil would be most beneficial/better for the 2.0 EB? Mobil 1 EP or the Mobil 1 ESP? I've searched and sifted thru countless oil forum threads and haven't found the answer I'm looking for. I also know that either of the two aforementioned oils will be acceptable, but I'm planning on keeping this truck long term and would like to fill the sump with the correct oil. I'm also open to using any other brand of oil... Of the two mentioned which would you lean towards, and if there are other brands you'd recommend, what are they? Thanks in advance!

In my 2024 Maverick ecoboost, I use 5w 30 Mobil 1 Advanced Full synthetic Motor Oil, Mobil 1 filter and the Mountune magnetic oil drain plug. I realize the 2022-2024 ecoboost engine has a ton of internal engine differences compared to the 2025 maverick ecoboost so I really am not sure what is best for you to use. To play it safe, I would stick to the Motorcraft brand oil and filter recommended for the 2025 Maverick 2.0t ecoboost.

Why not just use the Motorcraft full synthetic and Motorcraft filter?

I'm open to using Motorcraft Full Syn Oil, I just assumed it would be more expensive than the jugs of Mobil 1. If it's more advantageous or contains a more robust/specific additive package then by all means I'll use it.

Ok everybody,pull up a chairanother whats the best oil for our mavericks.i have used 10w30 napa oil and filter for 30 years or so.and i also put the 1/2 quart of oil right on in so I dont have it sitting on the bench to get turned overwait it gets worse!i change the oil and filter every 3000 miles,and fill the filter and oil the rubber gasket then install it!never had a oil related problem.yes,im a old man ,75,and have worked on cars last 60 years and aint changing my ways now!

I was specifically referring to the oils I mentioned in my original post. I know this subject can elicite some colorful dialogue. I can assure you that it's not my intention, merely asking some questions to a group of fellow Mav owners. I know I can go with Wally World super tech or any other oil, but my question is regarding the EP vs ESP? I believe they both carry the "blessing" of Ford MoCo? I read some things about valve caking issues (LSPI) and certain oils perform better than others is my understanding. If I'm not mistaken the 25s also have a dual injection system to remedy the issue, but it's cloudy at best.

Wally World, Costco, or Amazon Basics (all the same oil) with a Motorcraft filter. Why pay companies big bucks to advertise to you?

Yes, they are indeed decent oils. But there is a difference between those and Mobil 1 as well as other top tier brands. The additive package isn't the same. I'm told the newer direct injection engines benefit from a more robust additive package. Early oil change intervals would seem likely using an "inferior" oil, but at what point does it cost less/more?

Yes it is. Do you constantly change brands of oil and filters? I use the same brand of oil and filter in all my vehicles, including my 36 year-old 89 F150 300 6 cylinder with 336,000 miles on it and the motors never been out of the truck.

On my 2006 Toyota Scion I change brand oil and filters all the time. I've been using Costco Kirkland oil and whatever filter is on sale as of late with 169,000 miles and no issues. But it's not direct the same beast as the 2.0 EB. I planned on using the same oil in my Maverick, hence my desire for the ideal blend.

Well I have a great track record for some serious high mileage ecoboost vehicles. All have run amsoil 5w30 and I run them very hard well over spec for towing and lots of miles. At 0 percent oil life left on monitor blackstone says it’s still good.

I have my hardest use on the oil to date heading in for analysis this week. Lots of heavy hauling, cold starts, and lots of idle time. We shall see.
