I read through all the threads on this and I just have 1 question: I called the Ford plan administration line 1-800-521-4144. :
https://www.ford.com/support/how-to...el-my-ford-protect-extended-service-contract/

The rep said she can cancel the plan over the phone and notice the dealer but warned that it will take much longer to get the refund that way (she's being very vague about it). So she asked me to call the dealer directly. I haven't had much luck getting hold of the finance guy who sold me the plan. Has anyone tried cancelling through Ford directly and get a refund later with the dealer?

Thanks!

It depends on the dealership you know some of the people are just about selling the vehicle and not worried about customer service after the sale, In the past I’ve cancelled mine via one phone call and had a check a couple days later.

Instead of calling the dealer, go there and visit with them face to face.

Why is there discussion regarding Premiere Care cancellation? Are you not satisfied with it, or you think the Maverick is robust enough to not need it? I'm a brand new owner of a '24 Lariat and have had no problems with mine...just over 4k miles so not a lot of history with it yet. I got a letter from Grainger offering an extension or a brand new warranty plan and was considering it, but....

Well they figured that you purchased this dealer warranty where the dealer makes money off of you. They figured they suckered you once let’s see if he will bite again and give us more money.
You should have purchased ford extended warranty which is good at any Ford dealership for repairs. These dealerships warranty have so much fine print that if need repair you have to jump through hoops to get anything done. Good luck with that

I got hold of them and as you said they ask me to come in to cancel the premium care.

When I bought the truck I thought I'm going to keep it at least a few years and pass on to my son when he gets his license in a few years. Over the past few months the ownership experience has been less thas stellar. I still like the truck in general (can't anything better than what it offers) but I don't think I'm holding on to it long enough to justify the extended Ford Premium care ( I got 75k extension). I will keep the maintenance plan though.

The after sale guy gets charged back when you cancel, so he's not in a hurry to talk to you, he made a nice commission off you.

I always had the rule I buy a car with a warranty why buy additional warranty. Actually the additional warranty is NOT a warranty and it is an additional insurance plan that the company selling it is betting that you will never need it and you are betting that you will. Guess who wins in that case. When I was buying my used 2022 Maverick I refused all further warranties as the balance of the powertrain warranty was transferred to me and that is all I need.

I had the fiancé guy a bit miffed when I refused all those fancy warranties that generate cash for the dealer as I only agree to the purchase of the vehicle and nothing added. I then read everything and I still refused those added cost warranties. I was not going to get them anyway.

Those added insurance along with the fancy coatings and crap that are added to the vehicle I always refuse.

But if someone is foolish enough to fall for the trap and want a warranty get the Ford warranty. If needed down the road it will be honored at any Ford dealer. Where the dealership warranty is as useful as an empty roll of toilet paper.

I agree 100%, in almost 60 years of driving and getting a new car every 3/4 years I never bought a extended warranty on a vehicle, I know for a fact they double or more the cost of that warranty, it's a big money maker for the dealer, BUT if you get that warranty for $50.00 over cost and have a 1st year vehicle with a turbo and other possible issues I think you're going to get that 1500 bucks back in spades in the first 100k miles. YES, I did get a Granger factory warranty, am retired now no longer in the automotive field and too old to be kneeing or getting under cars or trucks. There are exceptions for every rule! I hope I live long enough to find out and if I never use that warranty am going to be pissed OFF. I guess it's just another insurance bill I pay like car/truck, dental, home, life, health, drugs, etc.
