I got home today and when I turned the thing off it said I'd gotten 105.6mpg! Stupidly, I didn't get the phone out to take a pix before the screen went blank.

49.1 is pretty nice for a 22 mile drive.

Daaaaaamn. I wanna see that.
It was kinna; neat, but in all honesty it was for a total of 1.4 miles w/ 1.2 miles electric. Would love to see that on a normal drive. One day in the Escape I made a similar drive and it showed 999.9mpg. Nice but I really wasn't going to take it too seriously.

this is good. i think the more important issue here is that you get more than half your miles in Electric mode in your daily commute.

to keep track, i have not reset my Trip 1 (or Trip2) and i get more than half of mileage in electric mode....that means my engine has half as many miles on it as the odometer reads.

First week I had my EcoBoost 2.0 XL I measured (old school: actual gallons/miles) and got 26.6mpg.
After that I watched the infotainment screen etc. and saw 26 around town and 34.1 highway.
Then I turned it off and just do calm screen etc. and when I check it always says 34.1mpg.
I can’t wait to get some decent gas (OUT of California, on a highway trip). Then I’ll check for real.

Yeah I really don't know what's good for the Eco....I moved out of a tesla so I knew I had to do hybrid or I'd lose my mind over gas costs.

For entertainment, I’ve been known to to reset mpg going down a long hill on the highway. The computer stays confused for a few miles after doing that: outstanding mileage (for a little while).

Seriously this just feels wrong. This is Northern VA/DC suburb major road driving for daily commute.

Damn, that's 600 mile a tank territory! Here's my best "trip" mileage. We all have the fluke short trip high mpg's (I've hit the 80's for a ~2 mile trip) but this was mostly freeway driving and close to 50 miles.

We’ve all gotten occasional crazy high mpg readouts. But your mpg will take a nose-dive when you:

1) drive in the cold
2) drive in the wind
3) have short trips less than 5 minutes
4) take freeways with speeds 75+
5) use the heater
6) idle for extended period
7) tow a trailer
8) have a fully loaded bed with multiple passengers in cab

I stopped taking too much notice of individual trips and now I just follow average mpg calculations at the pump. Mine are consistently at 34-38 mpg (calculated) which is exactly the test results found by MotorTrend.

True True. This is 55-65 mph on a major rowdway for ar least 16-18 miles and lots of stop and go in between. My last 2 miles are through a neighborhood and there's lots of little hills you can coast down.

Yeah...it definitely blows sitting waiting in school traffic lines to pick up kids. ..major suck then.

I routinely get 52-53 mpg on the way to my office the the weather is over 50 out. We had a cold spell here than it warmed up and the confuser said that I had 407 miles to empty, drove 22 miles to the office that went to 417, drove home still 417 drove back again then it had 418!

I love my baby truck!

Now that the temps are coming back up I expect to see 600 miles per tank as the norm for the warm months.
