Not in my experience. Yes the bumper absorbed energy: the damage looked superficial. The frame rail was crumpled anyway. Now replaced with an XLT with a hitch, I’m thinking of putting something in it:

I want one! Especially on my replacement Maverick. My first one got totaled from behind (bent chassis rail).

My 2025 was rear-ended, totaled, and eventually hauled off to the scrappers. Got a new XLT out of the deal.

Put RainX on my new XLT today. I like it a lot.

Upgraded to a new XLT 2025. Thanks Allstate (the other guy’s insurance company). Worked out well actually. Now I have a moonroof, and all the controls are in the same place! :clap:

I got a fairly thick Ford Maverick rubber pad. Paid for by points when I bought mine new. I used some caulking to glue it down, but I doubt it would’ve blown out: pretty heavy and fit well.

My 2025 XL got rear ended by a 1 ton Dodge pickup. Totaled. It gave itself up to save my neck and back. I think in about five days it’ll be settled and I plan to get another Maverick. You betcha! :muscle::cool:

@ GB “That’s the spirit.” Book is not much help. The IT stuff is intuitive, but only after you guess right! So far with this vehicle: book = 0 Asking here: = +2! My geezerly intuition: = -2. :facepalm:

2025 XL 2.0 EcoBoost. It’s a learning curve! So far so good but I’m suspicious: like when your new Labrador puppy is being too quiet… …wondering what I inadvertently signed up for with a monthly service charge while pushing icons. :crazy:

My nine year old grandson lives eight hours away. That could take days driving metric! Fortunately I was able to do as recommended above. I still can’t back to that setting. Great lil’ ol’ vehicle, but my fuel mileage plunges as I push buttons every time I get to a parking lot. Sheesh!🙄

Thank you! I probably did it from the steering wheel controls to begin with. Now doing it from the center screen would be futile. Go figure. Duh.🙄

Old geezer straying from Old Farts club needs tech advice from young fart. Newby that I am, seems -in my button pushing neophyte apprenticeship- I somehow changed my speedometer to metric (with the ‘merican mph in smaller). I go to settings: reset to MPH: but it still wants metric dominant...

For entertainment, I’ve been known to to reset mpg going down a long hill on the highway. The computer stays confused for a few miles after doing that: outstanding mileage (for a little while). :wink:

First week I had my EcoBoost 2.0 XL I measured (old school: actual gallons/miles) and got 26.6mpg. After that I watched the infotainment screen etc. and saw 26 around town and 34.1 highway. Then I turned it off and just do calm screen etc. and when I check it always says 34.1mpg. I can’t wait to...
