My 2023 ford maverick hybrid and none of the airbags were deployed in a 2 vehicle 45 mph front end accident with pictures.

I would refer to it as a glancing blow.
This would be considered a partial overlap type crash, (NHTSA document) . The NHTSA added these types of crashes to their testing, and when they did manufactures got dismal ratings. Thankfully manufactures have improved in this area since the late 1990's.

A study by O’Neill (1994) showed that 12% of all
frontal impacts with moderate or severe injuries were
impacts with an overlap less than 33%. The study also
showed that frontal collisions with an overlap less than
33%, produce moderate or severe injuries in 60% and
fatalities in 10% of those impacts. It is also shown that
14% of all fatal frontal two-car collisions had an overlap
below 33% (O’Neill, 1994).

I hope you have a swift recovery, and it is so mentally taxing having the trauma of an accident. I also wondered how these cars would hold up in an accident.
I was in a 25-mph frontal crash with my 2010 Toyota Tacoma Truck, and my front airbags did not deploy either. No one seemed to care, not my insurance nor Toyota. I also get a chuckle whenever people here talk about buying a Tacoma. I never will again.

Airbags will not go off at low speeds like that.

Certainly glad you are able to tell/show us about it.

Now stand by for an airbag non-deployment recall.

Fontal air bags are generally designed to deploy in "moderate to severe" frontal or near-frontal crashes, which are defined as crashes that are equivalent to hitting a solid, fixed barrier at 8 to 14 mph or higher. The body shop told me they may have been defective or the sensor was damaged. Scary none the less.

Failed impact sensors on an old vehicle is a distinct possibility. I've only ever been rear ended, so I've never had airbags go off. Just assumed that was the norm for slow speed collisions.

Looks like the seat belt on the passenger side allowed your head to hit the windshield?

Glad you are OK. Truck can be replaced. When I first saw the picture, what came to mind was you hit it JUST right for the airbags not to deploy. Not enough "straight on" in the front, and not enough "back" enough for the side. It was the perfect storm of the sensors not getting enough input to deploy. Should they have...probably....but the above is just my uneducated guess on this subject.

My head hit the steering wheel, which is why C4 , C5, C6 has a pinched nerve that continues to the left pointer finger still to this day

I had a slow speed rolling accident. 5-10 mph slid on ice into a ditch which rolled me onto the passenger side. 6 airbags went off (4 in the ceiling and front passenger seat side airbags). The only injury was a burn under my left arm where the airbag exhausted. There was enough damage my 2023 Lariat Hybrid was totaled.

Just guessing, but it looks like most of the impact was on the passenger side front wheel, which wouldn't have airbag sensors in it?
My thoughts exactly, damage was right of the bumper frame attachment, another inch or two to the left and it would almost certainly deployed the air bags. Go to NHTSA and look at the offset crash videos. I am more curious how the passenger hit the windshield.

Probably put his fist to it because the airbags didn't work. Sad that the airbags didn't, which should on any accident, front, side, rear, just so you don't hit the windshield.

There was no passenger , driver only.
45mph hit…. flying debris broke the glass.
no side air bags deployed and no front air bags deployed even though my Ford app, information said airbags bags are deployed and truck is undrivable.

Obviously from the injuries incurred, they were needed and failed to protect the occupant or occupants. What broke the windshield on the passenger side?
Side leg airbags are in 2023 ford maverick, flying mobile printer broke the glass on passenger windshield. Was a missile at 45 mph collision
