Has anyone noticed a popping sound when either engaging the trans into gear or when accelerating from a complete stop?

I don't hear the sound when in park or idle and revving the engine. As soon as you put it in drive you can hear it, even when your foot is still on the brake.

Ford keeps telling me that they can't hear anything.

Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.

EDIT. Ford also told me that it wasn't my cv.

Small update. Ford may be wrong. It might still be a bad cv.

Your foot is on the brake - not moving - and you hear it?

Not sure how that could be the CV axle.

Why play music over a video that is trying to demonstrate/ diagnosis a sound related problem?

That's not my video. It's one i found on youtube to try to describe what I'm thinking my problem is.

yes. It doesn't constantly make the sound when my foot is on the brake. It's initially does it as it engages. It also does this when driving from a stop OR engaging reverse.

I initially thought that too, but refrained from saying it, because what if he just means a “clunk” sound when it goes into drive? A bad cv could still do that.

So just play the sound of your noise. I can close my eyes (I have heard that blind people can hear better). The actual sound not someone imitating it.

“Give me a clunk, Vasili. One clunk only, please”

Yep that would make more sense.

@scyntaxx - You haven't been hearing a whole lot worse on corners, especially ones you are powering thru more than coasting thru?

You cannot follow the request of Eric Carmen and turn the radio up for that sweet sound!

No sound in corners. It literally sounds like that video I posted minus the random music.

I ask about corners - because that is almost always where CV joints display the issue first, or the most major sound of it.

You should hear it in corners if CV joint.

Ya the music is a killer - perhaps get you own video with correct quiet level.
