🤓 well I’ve had them in for a while now, I like how you don’t get buffeting like with an open rear window, but you can hear air flowing in. I asked about car washing and was told to take them out to be safe, I did that. The morning of March 4th (3am), the rain came down hard. Truck was sitting in my driveway. After the sun came up, I went to check if water had gotten in and yes there was some rain collected in the armrest pockets.I did put those insert on all four doors, so I could a little pool in each (just a little mind you but it was there). I do have vent shades above windows, I’m wondering what would have happened if I were driving in that down pour? 🤔

Depending on your vent installation probably stretched out the seal (if you have the in channel style) = not a problem with the ones that seal on the outside or never had them at all.

Are you using Mabett window vents? I wasn't aware that they made them for the front doors.

What in the world are you talking about? Stretched out what seals? Mabetts window vents only slipped in the tracks.. the water came in the vents holes not around the window seals. OH BY THE WAY, they only fit in the channels.

You find that funny, but your first post is hard to make sense of, to be honest. What does "I did put those insert on all four doors, so I could a little pool" mean? What is "those insert", and how do you "a little pool"?

I did put those insert on all four doors, so I could a little pool in each (just a little mind you but it was there).
"Those rear window vents" and "those insert" isn't very specific, and I can't read minds.

What style/brand of vents do you have? Do you have any pictures?

🤓 I only know of the Mabett ones. Are there any others?

Ah, yeah the Mabett ones are the only I know about. For the wind deflectors I know there are a few different brands and styles you can find on Amazon. With the water getting in, maybe there was some wind or the rain came down a bit sideways. It would be inconvenient, but you may have to remove those everytime it rains to be safe. Truck looks nice!

🤓 I was talking about those little storage pockets for behind the door handles , it’s just that I have them on all 4 doors. Don’t remember the name.

No doubt the wind was blowing hard as well. I am not surprized that some water got in as these are not waterproof, and dont claim to be. They offer some protection from the elements and have kept my rear dry during light rain.
