In the glovebox, you should find a wire. Under the back seat, you should find a plastic funnel. You use the wire to connect the funnel to the slit in the console.

Wow, had my truck for a year almost and never noticed it ! J/K, mine doesn’t have it, I have 5 push buttons and no slit. It’s there for no special reason, but as others have and will mention, it’s up to your imagination.

This slot is only present in hybrids. Ford, as usual, was looking ahead and recognized a customer need. Storage for recall notices, info on wiring harnesses, batteries and cv boots/axles as well as appointment times. It is estimated this will not be needed in the 2032 model!
