This is a much better done video than the last one, they got the right mic. And he really does seem to like it and makes some good arguments against the larger trucks.

55 mph yesterday, 21 mile trip. Not much hillage, just straight highway, no expressway. No heat on, no accessories on, except drove in cruise control the whole way. I got 30.1 mpg, using 1.6 miles for electric. The rest used gasoline. And this is a hybrid in case you didn't know. To get better usage of the hybrid, my dealer says to stay in the city. That was not part of the sales pitch. Buying a city truck only to use the electric part of the truck is not what I bought it for. 3 fillups so far, averaged 31.2 mpg. Where did the 40 mpg go? Or the 46 mpg people are saying they got? I am a slow to move driver, but stay out of harms way. I don't hold anyone up, but never go over 62 mph. I am not cheap, just don't want to put gas in where the hybrid should do most of the driving. This bull about turning the heat off to get better gas mileage is garbage. Most of the myths are.So basically the 25 Maverick hybrid AWD with tow package is the best, most versatile/efficient truck ever made and the truck most people should be buying!
It’s winter time. Every vehicle gets much worse mpg in the cold months and with the winter blend gas. I’m averaging 30mpg around town with my 25 hybrid AWD. In the spring summer and fall I expect to be around 40mpg.55 mph yesterday, 21 mile trip. Not much hillage, just straight highway, no expressway. Why do I need luck? I averaged around 40mpg with my 22 hybrid in the warmer months…good luck with that.
I love positive thinking it’s February and I’m getting above 40 mpg here in Florida so I agree with your expectationsIt’s winter time. You said you averaged 40 mpg around town. Is it strickly a town truck where you cannot get the mileage you want out of town? I believe so. I have not gotten over 31 mpg, in the city or the road. And it isn't the cold weather. And it isn't my driving. If I knew it was to be used in the city only, I would have went with another ecoboost. Honest opinion, warmer weather isn't why I bought this truck. If I ever see 40 mpg, I will come back. Why do I need luck? I averaged around 40mpg with my 22 hybrid in the warmer months…
So I am looking at this truck like my electric bill/heat in the winter time, Nov - March. My bill is approx. $210 a month, but hold on, the other months of the year, it goes down to a reasonable amount. I just have to suffer through the cold months to achieve a better outcome.I love positive thinking it’s February and I’m getting above 40 mpg here in Florida so I agree with your expectations![]()
EPA is 34 highway. You are close. Milage will improve some once it's broken in.You said you averaged 40 mpg around town. In designing the Maverick to be truck shaped, it has truck aerodynamics to go with it. Coming from a Prius V, I knew I'd take a hit on highway mpg, especially as speed increases, but the increased utility and awd will be worth the tradeoff.EPA is 34 highway. You are close. It's all about where you live, weather, tires, fuel quality, and your driving style. Small chance you got a lemon.55 mph yesterday, 21 mile trip. If I ever see that, I may just have a cardiac. Not sure how it is accomplished, but just have to stick with it. It is too expensive to trade back in.It's all about where you live, weather, tires, fuel quality, and your driving style. Small chance you got a lemon.
