Let's see *** Important Safety Recall *** dated September 2024
Safety Recall Notice 24S59 / NHTSA Recall 24V684

Must not be that important. Spoke to the dealer the other day. No, we do not have the fix for this yet but when we do, we will be sure to let you know. Yeah OK.

Now it is almost 6 months later and no fix. Pretty amazing that there has been this amount of emphasis placed on this issue. Ford, just give us the MY25 camera and updated code and be done with it., assuming that will fix the issue.
It needs new radio hardware like from the XLR with lux or latiet

Unless I missed it, I didn't hear anything about the camera recall from Tim
False alarm 🤣
Ford still has their crack software engineers hard at work.

considering that I was an application coder and DBA for 34 years working for two blue chip companies, I can assure you that I 'know programmers' and your dismissive attitude is rather astounding and shows your arrogance. Debugging and troubleshooting software especially in 'modern times' where there are tools to monitor every module and where they collect diagnostics on their own test bed of trucks along with owners bringing in their faulty vehicles where likely there are fault codes already present and can easily reproduce faults in the lab isn't something that is out of the absolute ordinary. When you have that many vehicles sitting on the lot gathering financing charges and disappointing customers and incurring fines you would think that Ford would prioritize their projects and maintenance and at a minimum put a 'swat team' on this problem and resolve it. It's hilarious when Farley complains about the upcoming tariffs and how that's going to cause large losses while at the same time making ridiculous business moves like reducing the IT staff, losing 10s of Billions$ on their failed EV sector, incurring government fines due to faulty software and not taking any responsibility for that.
it would appear that nobody within Ford knows anything either - it's a software fix - they can't round up some coders to fix this? it's been months and there are 10s of thousands of trucks that can't be sold until it's fixed.
One has to believe that the camera issue is more complicated than just a software update. If it was just a firmware issue, I would have thought that would have been released long ago as to not have the MY24 piling up at the finish line. Just wondering if there is some kind of incompatibility along the way that is holding all this up. Do you think the hardware vendor is holding this up ?

There is a time stamp for the recall information, 6:03. I just said that there will be news this week on a BCM software update on the 2022-2024 Maverick. It doesn't say if that is the rearview camera recall or not.

I’ve had 2 dealers contact me this week telling me that the 2024 I’m interested in should have a fix this week..
Seems just more confusion.

So are we getting another recall ? You say BCM, but any idea what it is related to ?

I don't think is a different recall and I was not able to get that information. Since it is on 2022-2024 Maverick and not 2023 Maverick, I believe it is for the camera recall. Until they release the full bulletin we won't know.

It's strange that they mention media inquiries , is that typical ?

the hardware vendor would be threatened, crushed and dumped off Ford's approved vendor list if the vendor was dragging their feet. Think about this - in the end it's nothing more than an image on a camera being transmitted to a screen 8 feet away - how impossible can this be to diagnose and resolve?

It's been almost 6 months now since the back camera recall was announced and still no fix. 2024 Mavericks are piling up at the dealers because they can't sell them until the fix has been provided. Ford is taking it in the shorts. Do you think that all of this can be resolved by a simple firmware upgrade ? If it could, then it would have been resolved a long time ago.

I think pile of 24's is already reached the end destination of dealer storage lots.
When do the orders open up for the 2026s August, September maybe October?
