I'll bet that this 2025 was the one I almost bought, but was dealer traded the day I went to go look at it on Monday. From Steet Ponte in Yorkville NY ..was a customer order who backed out. Upon further review...it isn't it. The one at Steet had 19" aluminum rims. Cool looking Mav for sure...

You say you drove both Vegas. Did they both make to the end of the driveway. I know they weren't as bad as people say but I did have a friend who had one and the temp light came on. They should have called it the KaPut light.

I drove both of them thousands of miles up and down the east coast without mechanical issues. By 1975 all mechanical issues had been resolved by Chevrolet about 5 years too late. A similar fate the Fiero faced.
Driving them revealed what I had forgotten. They were not very comfortable to operate compared to contemporary vehicles, difficult to get into and out of and no internal sound control at all.

My buddy had one, thing was peppy but handled like shit.
He rolled it.
Remember those Curchunk curchunk big fat chromed inked box stamp machines stock clerks used in the 70’s ?
His was stuck half way through the windshield.
Had another buddy with a regular Vega.
He chained, yes welded chains around the engine and car frame to hold a 302 V-8 in his Vega.
Took it to the drag strip.
Made it half way down the quarter mile. Had to let up, the car frame twisted so bad he limped off the track with only three wheels touching the ground. The back glass exploded.

My very first car was a 1971 Vega. This brings back memories.

1975 was my favorite year of all time. 18 young free, not a care in the world. i was not driving a Maverick but a 66 Mustang. Had my whole life ahead of me!

Did you drop a 283, maybe a 350 in them? Have a bud that put a 350 in his older Vega, too snakey for me!

Nope. Bone stock, though the silver one did get the GM supplied iron sleeved engine. I put it in. Even with 4 speeds, they were still POS'. At least I did not see myself coming the other way on the road.
